Hi all.

I just thought i'd let you know that i'm on the show next week! :eek:

I had a call from Laura saying they were looking for someone to do a slot about homemade cosmetics.... I thought it was a hoax at first lol!

Anyway I had the team here all day with me. Laura is so sweet and made me feel at ease. Ray (the very good looking one lol!) Is a genius and soon had me laughing instead of falling over with nerves.

They filmed me doing a number of things and i'm not sure what will be shown on Wednesday but I just hope I dont look silly... its a little scarey!

Anyway please give me a little thought on Wednesday.... and try to be kind with the feedback or I may go hide in a hole :rotfl: :j

Hmmm well when I see myself I may think im more stoooopid than brave! The team are great though and I soon forgot that I was being filmed. I'm very nervous about how I will appear on TV, i've never done anything like this before. Liz looked very calm and natural and I just hope that once im edited i'll look ok.

When Laura rang me up to ask me to appear, my whole body was screaming to me... are you crazy? say no you mad fool but all that came out of my mouth was, yeah sure!

Mummyof3 have a look on the new forum on this site. It tells you all about Martin's new show. It started this week on Wednesday, channel 5 at 7.30pm

Oo cool what cosmetics do you make? I make all my own personal hygeine stuff not quite branched out to mineral makeup yet but I want to one day. I also will only use Indian herbs to wash my hair but shh don't tell anyone lol.

Well done having the courage to appear on the telly, will definitely look out for the program! :T

Well we were going to do soapmaking but its not practical to show all the stages plus health/safety issues in a thirty second slot so I did body butter instead. I would like to have done salt scrubs, herbal vinegar toners and hair tonics but I cant do everything I want to as there wouldnt be any time left for Martin lol.

Well done you though for making your own stuff. I make a scrubby shea/cocoa butter bar that is gorgeous and makes a great gift idea for Christmas, I also like making body butter bars, facial scrubs, that kind of thing.

I think I must have always been into dabbling as I remember making mud masks as a child and walking around with them on my face.... only I made them from real mud in the garden!!:rolleyes:

Sounds lovely! I know what you mean about the practicalities of demonstrating the soap-making. I bet your slot will inspire a lot of keen viewers though!
You remind me I used to make tiny mud pots out of mud in garden then dry them and paint with powder paint - none on my face though! I used to like mixing talc with lotion and leaving it to dry into silky powder, but you'd never catch me using either of those again! Oh and rose petals in water - stinky perfume heh!
