what can I use instead of vanish?

hello all
as asked above- what could I use instead of vanish? I have a 6yr old whose school trousers & jeans always green on the knees- a husband who insists on spilling meals down white tops (especially curry!!) & a 9 month old whose bibs are just a nightmare- it works out pretty pricey when you're using it on as many clothes as that!
Any other suggestions please?

l use normal soap on any stains
it works wonders
my friend told me about it years ago
never thought it would work till l ran out
off vanish0 -
Try soda crystals, approx 49p a pack from Tesco, usually in the same aisle as the stain removers and washing powders. Also very good at unblocking sinks and drains.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500

Napisan has the same ingredients as Vanish products (being made by the same people) but is generally cheaper and can be used as a pre-wash soak or in the machine

I am currently experimenting with BioD Nappy Fresh for pre-wash soaking dishcloths, floor cloths etc. I paid £1.80 for 500g in a local shop. The main ingredients are: sodium carbonate (ie washing soda) Sodium percarbonate (an oxidizing agent - releases water and sodium carbonate in water, is a main ingredient in oxygen bleaches) and sodium sulphate (not found out what this does yet).
Only used it a couple of times, and cloths weren't very stained so it hasn't had a tough test yet.0 -
my 2 year old had tomato soup for lunch today by the time he had finshed his top had turned mostly orange l read on an other post that they hardly use soap powder in each wash inless the clothes where really dirty thought l would put it to a test put his top in the sink and rubbed soap (the kind you use to wash yourself) put the top and other clothes in the machine at 30 (no soap powder) they all came out clean and the top is spotless0

it just goes to show you! my hubby will think i'm a cheapskate if I do that:o - but if I do it when he's not in he'll never know! hahaha
tried just ordinary soap instead of vanish on a soft toy that had hardened bubblegum on & guess what- it came out almost prefectly. that was on a 30 degree wash as my machine doesnt have a lower setting. I know what I'll be using in future!!Mortgage Balance May 25- £9975. Planning to be paid off by Dec 25🎄0
