HSBC won't port our mortgage and we can't afford to stay here. Lowest point ever.

I don't get it - I think we do cope quite well! I've never missed a payment for anything, even when things were tight and I wasn't working.0

Yep. All the comforts. A real big TV as well. Got it with the money from our Jeremy Kyle appearance.0

sounds like you need to change to a bank that will look at your situation and work with you. Banks have changed so much now in the 25 years I have been banking with Yorkshire bank. I have just changed to a different bank because YB is just a faceless organisation with a youngster in the bank who has no authority to make a desicion. Change your bank and negotiate a deal with them if possible.0

I think you're right Barron. We did actually get fed up with HSBC about a year ago, and switched banking to the Halifax. But we just couldn't work with them - only able to see the past fortnight online, really unpleasant call centre staff (not all, but quite a few that we spoke to were awful), and useless local branch staff who messed up two simple cheque pay-ins, so we switched back! But I think it's time to look at it again. But who to go to?! I don't think there's any bank that's 'good' these days unless I've missed something.0

That's your problem - that's why you're being mistaken for sub-prime. You need to call in the "Pimp my Couch" people..."Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)

what a ludicrous definition of being sub prime!!
Subprime lending (also known as B-paper, near-prime, or second chance lending) is the practice of making loans to borrowers who do not qualify for the best market interest rates because of their deficient credit history.
This is from a well known website and states quote clearly what we all know.
You do not have deficient credit history and as such would not be classified within sub prime by any means.
Even a high street church like bank offer "prime" mortgage products to clients that have been free of late payments ccjs etc for a year. therefore they to have ceased to be sub prime at this time.
Saying it is due to your level of debt is ridiculous. Please don't feel bad hon.debt @05/11/11 £12210.63!! slowly chipping away!!:heart2:impossible is nothing.:heart2:0
