I've tried loads of nail buffers with minimal success....until I bought the block from the Body Shop!! £4 and makes your nails super smooth and shiny, which I like when I don't have the time to paint them or want to give them a polish free day.
Debt at LBM July 2013: [STRIKE]£46,085.88[/STRIKE] Debt today: £36,501.67

    20.8% down, 79.2% to go!

The quicker I'm debt free, the quicker I'll be Mrs. H! Date to beat: April 2018

Thanks Y,S &B. Had a look on Ebay for the Sally Hansen Super Shine. It says it's a top coat. Do you definitely use it as a base coat?
    Thanks for all your help.

i would defo recommend. although are top coats these products contain a 'gripper' which help hold the varnish on to the nails.
(base coats are just a thicker type of varnish to help even out ridges n imperfections, no use for long lasting nail art )

(by the way the orly nail gripper is the best i think it comes in a red bottle)
hope this helps lemme know how it goes xx

A quick tip if your planning on going to a college. When I trained we didn't have a great selection of nail polishes. So if you want a certain colour you might find it best to take along your own.

Obviously where you go might have a better range than we had 10 years ago. You can either go first time armed with your fav polish if you have one, or see what they have. If they don't have want your after next time take your own.

I've read other good things about the Body Shop buffer- it's supposed to be much more gentle than other kinds and can even be used on top of polish!
Will definitely get one, thanks for the recommendation.
  • Thanks to all those who suggested the Body Shop buffer. I went and bought one today after reading your posts and can thoroughly recommend it!

    Hiyah

After trying quite a number of different nail colours / varnishes, i can recommend the Barbara Daily nail polish classic (in sweetie colour). I find the varnish very hard wearing and the colour super - i always get alot of comments when i wear this colour - as it appears similar to a french manicure (without all the hassle and time of having one done!). It costs around £3.50 per bottle, but the results are super! Give it a go!

Apologies, i missed out the main part !!! Tesco :o

The colour is a very light baby dol pink - i love it! (colour = Sweetie)

EVERY single time i wear this (i wear varnish on my nails every day) my nails are commented on....

Oh, another tip for you - keep your nails short and squared off!

    Hope you like the varnish

    I hope you like!

I only use one coat in this colour! It lasts for days (which i am totally amazed at!) as the colour is light but hardwearing...

    Enjoy!
