My home is covered by a license, I've received a letter from them saying it is unlicensed. They say to contact them within 2 weeks or they will prepare to pass my details to the enforcement division for an investigation. How long do they take to turn up at your home from the date of the letter.

Don't panic. If you have a TV licence there is no problem. If the TVL person does come round for a visit, you can just show them the licence. All the stuff about 'enforcement division' is just to put the wind up people. TVL are big bullies.

For eleven years we had a Monday-to-Friday flat in London - used as a work related base - no TV

For eleven years we regularly received threatening letters from the TV Licensing people

For eleven years (after replying to the first one) we totally ignored them

Years later and we have a NIL payment TV license for our permanent home (DH is over 75) - and we got a visit from the Enforcement Team at 11.00pm !! - we do NOT open the door to anyone at that hour

We called 999 - we thought someone was trying it on to break-in - the police were totally disgusted at their actions

So far (2 months) we have not had a repeat - but my DH is now very nervous of the slightest sound after 9.00pm
