Not sure if this is in the right place or whether it should be on the Telephones thread....Mod's feel free to move if wrong.
I just want a little rant so bear with me! My BT phone bill was due to go out of my account on 1st Jan by DD. Now for personal reasons I had to cancel that one and they then sent me a bill online the following day. Today, I got my last wage from work so phoned phoned to pay them, only to find my phone line had been suspended. Now that I am ok with, my fault for not phoning them and explaining I would pay when my wages went in bank BUT when I did pay by debit card I was then told there would be a £11.99 reconnection fee on my next bill!
I asked them to explain, was told it's standard. I asked to speak to a superviser and surprisingly was put through. I put my case forward....when I had paper bills I was first sent a bill, then if a couple of weeks later it hadn't been paid a red bill would be sent. The superviser agreed. So why when my bill is only 10 days late do I get this charge? I must've got someone who was having a good day because he actually agreed with me and said they would waive this charge.
Now before anyone has a go at me....I know I should've paid earlier but I couldn't. I know I should've contacted them but I didn't. I am seriously trying to make my attitude were money is concerned a lot better with the help of this site and I am chuffed with myself that I insisted on talking to a superviser. Before I would have just accepted the further charge.
