2008 calendar

anyone know where to get a cheapish 2008 calendar from - a family planner type ideally? I went to WHSmiths at the beginning of the week and they were still full price and other shops had sold out.

  • Hi

I got our Family Planner 2008 calendar from Clinton's last Sunday, half price at £3.49, they also had Supernanny Family Planner. In the Disney Store later i saw a Winnie the Pooh Family Planner for £1.79.

Also try and see if the Calendar Club shops are still open, one i passed was closed, but in another centre it was still there.

Woolworths also had Simpsons ones for half price.

  • Thanks for that.

I had a look in Woolworths and they had football and justin timberlake-type awful calendars left. the clintons that I went into had a similar selection left as well. However, I never thought about the Calendar Club - I'll give them a try on Monday (hopefully they'll still be open). I just didnt fancy spending a tenner at WHSmiths for one and was hoping they'd have reduced them by now.

    Thanks.
  • The Rosenborg cheese calendar is still available here:

    http://www.rosenborg.co.uk/theFullFlavour/calendar/register/

You can buy the cheese to get the code needed or there's a code posted on the freebie board, here:

    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=601397

(The website now only accepts the first five numbers of the code.) It also comes with 12 X 20p vouchers, which some supermarkets will scan as money off your general shopping. It's not a family-planner calendar but it's nice quality and I thought it might still be OK for a small spend / free / voucher profit. :)
  • Tesco? I got one there earlier in the week for £3!

Hi, can I also ask if anyone has see pocket diarys reduced ?
I normally end up with half a dozen, but this year, I have none. Even missing one at work as they are cutting back and first time in 20+ years not had a desk planner type diary.
Makes me realise how much I use them - have already missed a dentist appointment  as I hadn't got a 2008 Calendar or diary when I made the appointment.

Borders usually do a good selection, but probably a bit early yet for their mega price reductions.

    Thanks in advance:T

That's why give my patients a complimentary diary starting in about October!! I've one or two left over, so PM me your address and I'll send you one!!
    How to find a dentist.
    1. Get recommendations from friends/family/neighbours/etc.
    2. Once you have a short-list, VISIT the practices - dont just phone. Go on the pretext of getting a Practice Leaflet.
    3. Assess the helpfulness of the staff and the level of the facilities.
    4. Only book initial appointment when you find a place you are happy with.

Oxfam had their diaries reduced to half-price when I was in there last weekend. The pocket diaries were around £2, reduced price.

Gawd, you don't work for the Probation Service do you? We didn't have calendars this year - in fact our team did a "calendar special" secret santa, seeing as we'd have had to buy our own we thought it would be fun to buy them for each other for Christmas instead!

Anyway, I was in Woolworths this morning and all their calendars (wall and desk) were £1. They seemed to have a pretty good selection too.

    Jxx
And it looks like we made it once again
Yes it looks like we made it to the end
  • I work in the wholesale trade and have recently been offered calenders and diaries at pennies from one of the largest importers. I turned them down but within a week or so, discount shops and market stalls will be flooded with cheap diaries and calenders. In the mean time you sholud be able to find a planner from poundland type shops.

    Have you checked Amazon?
    • High school musical £1.00
    • Bratz £1.00
    • Shrek third £1.00
    • Harry Potter £2.90
    • Dr Who £2.74
I appreciate the postage will make the saving poor , if not buying other items to take it to £15, or being a 'prime customer', but hope this of use
