    :T :T I'm not alone then :D:D

I check my FD accounts once in the morning and once in the evening, Monday to Friday then once a day on Saturdays and Sundays. I started doing that mainly to ensure there was no suspicious activity, then to check my balances. Now it's a comfort thing :rotfl:

Having been defraud on my Egg card last May, I now check that daily even though I rarely use it.

Started a budget for January and now check my spreadsheets daily. Even though I've given myself a weekly spending allowance, I'm reluctant to use it! (yesterday's 'blowout' excepted :o ).

I have a matched betting spreadsheet were I keep account of every bet I make and every profit I make.

I once found it was 97p out from what the othe spreadsheet said so I spent 3hours finding the difference :(

But I will point out I am an accountant so I am allowed to be that obsessive by differences! :D

Im with you on the checking thing! I made a spreadsheet for my money made from ebay/amazon etc. and I keep looking at it, like its going to grow interest or something! :rotfl:

I don’t actually have a spreadsheet/workbook for expenses, its kind of in my head, and on a word document (which is a bit pants!). IN fact I might design one now… unless someone wants to help me out by sending their fandabbydozie one??
    Debt: just my mortgage :D
  • my spreadsheet is quite a new addition and have to admit i am quite obsessed. I have 5 main tabs. One for overall review on a month by month basis.
One for daily spends broken down into 4 colums, essential, planned, debt repayments, extravagance with a running total. Will be a v long sheet by time i am finished!
Tab 3 is for Daily Income received. This to include everything that touches my bank accounts from all sources
Tab 4 is freebies received where I count money found in street (LOL) vouchers from complaint letters, when someone has taken me out for a meal etc as its nice just to see what extra we do get throughout the years
Tab 5 is competition wins - at the moment its blank LOL

I also use Microsoft money for looking at each bank account, loan account, arrears amount, savings etc. I find this helps me to charting etc.

Have used money for ages but find sometimes (due to my own use of it) that its not as clear as it could be and so the spreadsheet is a back up.

Dont tend to check my bank account/cc every day but perhaps every second ;)

  • just opened mine and it's 49 pages... scary! Though all 12 months til I'm debt free have two pages each - one for my weeks' spends broken down daily and one for who I owe/owe money to/from and expenses I know I'm going to have that month (like birthdays). It must be an accountant thing cos I'm chartered too!! I think when I start matched betting it'll go in a separate sheet though.

I'm a management accountant (believe it or not!) so I'm not too bad with Excel. Who am I kidding? I love it and I want it's babies.

Lurve excel, and I am completely obsessed by my financial spreadsheet too!! It has lots of formulas, pulling data from all over the place :T :T :T

opps!!!! Just remembered that as well as checking my bank daily, I also keep a book of my debts.:j

When I send my money to each debt I mark it down in the book, along with the date and time, whome I spoke to and any reference numbers they give me. I then mark down my latest balance !

    Me obsessed ......NEVER!!!!:D

OMG, so glad it's not just me!!!!

I use Excel and have 11 worksheets on it:
1 - Month by month budget for 2008 and 2009 detailing where every penny of my salary will go...!
2 - Current account movement for current month ensuring I'm on track
3 - Credit card one spending
4 - Credit card two spending
5 - Credit card three spending
    6 - Savings - everyday savings account
    7 - Savings - ISA account
    8 - Savings - kids' account
    9 - Mortgage account
10 - List of MSE articles to read and what I've done as a result of reading them, what's left to read
11 - Archive of every table / money spreadsheet I've had in the past for reference

I check it daily. I don't know what I expect to see on it that's different, but I check it daily...! I know it's a bit of an obsession that I need to calm down over.

That should be my resolution for 2008.

    :)

Check out eager learners spreadsheet, there is a thread on it, its very helpful start and then you can customise ti to what you want. Thats what i did.

And yes i check it FAR t often and then i start playing with figures seeing if i paid this every month then this will be cleared by then and that will be cleared by then :o Im def more in control though!!:T
