in Cutting tax
HELLO , I,ve just done my online self assement tax return. I,m self employed but only work part time ,mostly in the summer . I look after our 3 old. The last tax year I only earned £2500, before that about £2700. So i,ve not had to pay tax . My wife works full time . There was a question about letting my partner have the unused tax allowance . I think i put no !
Should i have put yes and could i claim back to when we got married 3 1/2 years ago ???? thanks

I take it you are referring to Question 16.14?
If so that is only in relation to the Married Couple's Allowance and can only be claimed by those born before 6th April 1935 which I assume does not apply to you?
If not you should not have been completing any part of Q16 anyway.
Other than that you cannot give any of your unused allowances to anyone else.0 -
