Cheap ex-display TV's!!! 25% off.

As of the 19th on January, all stores will have to display a new range of TVs in-store. This means that most of the TVs in store are made available for sale with a discount of about 25% off! The percentage you may get off is at the managers discretion.

Check the TVs first as they can not be returned because they are cosmetically damaged, as they are ex-display.

They will have the full years warranty.

Stores will be changing their displays in the run up to the 19th so get in before then and speak to the MANAGER as it is their best wishes to get rid of them for space!

If the TV you are after have slight scratches/no remote then haggle slightly with the manager, not too much though as there is a strong demand for these reduced TVs and some1 else may be willing the pay the asking price.

I recently got an ex-display 26" LCD from Asda reduced from £199 to £150 but no remote or manual. Bargain in it's self!
It comes with a year's guarantee so I phoned them up, told them the TV came with no remote or manual. No hassle, they sorted me out for free!

Something to bear in mind - especially since the Asda & Tesco universal remotes are pants..!

Depends if the 25% is off the normal price , if it is you could probably get a brand new one cheaper on the net.

Well, if that's the case and you were using Martin's Moneysaving Mantra - where by you would look to see if your item could be bought cheaper elsewhere - you would already have looked on the Internet.

If it isn't cheaper, buy the ex-display one. As jonny1rfc says, if you speak to the manager, perhaps in advance to get an idea of what's to be sold off and at what price, you can research before you buy.

Not all TV's are 25% cheaper on the Internet than in store otherwise no one would buy them from in store!
Flipside: if they are cheaper on the net then the discount in store would be even more, I'd think..!

    Win, win.

This thread solves a bit of a puzzle for me. Went into the Metrocentre Argos a couple of days ago and there were only three TVs on display. I did think at the time that it was a bit odd, but obviously the manager there has pretty much already had his/her sort out of display tellies.

Try another Argos? Or a Currys? I'm sure all this would apply to many different stores...

Another thing to consider about x display tv's is they have been on from 9am to 8pm 7 days a week, thats alot of wear and tare if they have been on display for several months.

  • I can confrim that the TVs will have been used for 6 months. As they are changed at every catalogue launch.
