Acer laptop £299 at Asda.

Hi guys!:hello:
Before I start, I don't know the techie details, but Asda have an Acer laptop instore for £299 - marked down from I think it was £350 or £380? Don't know how long it'll be there for peeps. I'm quite poorly at the moment so the brain cells were on standby power.
I can't remember the original price but it was enough of a markdown to catch my eye. How good it is will be a trip over to the Techie Board for you if you can fin the specs!;) Maybe good enough for a college/uni student?
Hope this helps someone,;)
Much Love,
Tiff xxx

Found the spec over on hotukdeals:

    Acer Aspire 3055

    AMD Semperon 3600
    1GB RAM
    80GB Hardrive
    Windows Vista Basic
    Wi-Fi

Nothing special but a decent laptop for £299 :)
  • So you dont know the spec i.e. you dont know if its a good deal? These threads make me laugh, a case of wasting your time and everyone elses, even though you were trying to help, focus on getting better.

Haha! You bitter person! I see your input must be more worthy than the OPs...

Asda isn't like PC world - they're less likely to have ancient stock to mark down, thus likely to be a good deal.

Thanks for the post - even without the spec list, I'll be having a look for under £300 :):):)

Pathetic. This person spots a laptop at a reasonable price, lets us all know about it and you have to have a dig. That's great encouragement for the OP and a great early post for a newbie :rotfl: :rotfl:

I can't find that model, I got the Acer 5315 for christmas. It seems similar.

    Mine has:
    Intel celeron processor 530
252MB Mobile Intel GraphisMedia Accelerator X3100
    1GB DDR2
    15.4" WXGA Crystalbrite LCD
    80GB HDD
    DVD_Super Multi double layer
    802.11b/g WLAN

I don't understand the jargon, I think it is good (I only surf though ;) )

The one downfall is Vista, but I suppose it's because I am just not used to it.
I am debating on putting XP on it or to just 'get used to it'

Anyway, mine was £300 from Acer, so I'm thinking this is the same.

I would say it is a good spec basic laptop. (But I don't know alot!)

At least they are posting with offers and deals .. This would be a headsup to anyone going to ASDA who could provide the details (like has been done)otherwise it might be the chance of a deal gone by.

There are a few occasions where people might not be looking for an item but may have seen something that looks a good price and just reports it as a POI for someone who might want to look into it.

    Thanks OP

Hi just walked passed a garage, there was a car on sale, said reduced price to £1000, sorry did not catch the colour, make, year, mileage etc, but it said it was a bargain on the sign.
