Nobody is going to send you $1.5 million out of the blue. And if you really had won a large sum of money why can't they take any costs ($135) out of the winnings. Spammers don't really 'get' people's email addresses - they just make them up. For example, if you are a spammer you know that hotmail.com exists. So you can put anything you want as the first part and then fire the emails off. Sure - some will bounce but many won't - for example, people often use their initials and year of birth (hm, like azp74???), so you just need to write a script that will generate aaa70@hotmail.com, aaa71@hotmail.com and then off you go. Of course, you need an ISP that will tolerate you using all that bandwidth, but that is why many spam emails originate from abroad, in countries where the ISPs don't care about bandwidth!
If you are really worried about getting random spam emails like this you are best off chosing a ridiculous username (and especially NOT a dictionary word) - the only problem is that you & your mates will never be able to remember it!!!

COTONOU REPUBLIC OF BENIN
Dear Friend Greetings!
I have been waiting for you since to contact me for your Confirmable
Bank Draft of $1.5millon United States Dollars, but I did not hear
from you since that time. Then I went and deposited the Draft with
FEDEX EXPRESS COURIER COMPANY, Cotonou, Benin Republic before I
travelled out of the country for five Months Course, and I will not
come back till march ending next year.
What you have to do now is to contact the,FEDEX EXPRESS COURIER COMPANY
as soon as possible to know when they will deliver your package to
you, because of the expairing date.
Now, for your information, I have paid for the delivering Charge,
Insurance premium and Clearance Certificate Fee of the Cheque showing that it is not a
Drug Mone y or meant to sponsor Terrorist attack in your Country. The
only money you will send to the Courier Company to eneble them deliver your Draft
direct to your postal Address in your country is ($135.00USD) one
hundred and thirty five United States Dollars only, being the Security
Keeping Fee of the Courier Company.
Again, don't be deceived by anybody to pay any other money except
$135 USDollars. I would have paid that but they said no, because they
don't know when you will contact them,in case of demurrage.
Now your advise is to contact the FEDEX EXPRESS COURIER COMPANY now
for the deliveary of your Draft with this information bellow;
CONTACT PERSON REV LAURENT GUEN.
EMAIL ADDRESS: (fedexcourier_company0001@yahoo.fr)
TEL:+22993-470-571
Finally, My dear, please, make sure that you reconfirm your direct
information
1) YOUR FULL NAME
2) YOUR CURRENT TELEPHONE NO
3) YOUR HOUSE ADDRESS
4)YOUR OCCUPTI ON
5)A COPY OF YOUR PICTURE
6) AGE AND SEX
These are the things you will reconfirm to them again to avoid mistake
when delivreay.
Now, Let me repeat again, try to contact them as soon as you recieve
this mail to avoid any further delay. You should also let me know
through email as soon as you receive your Draft.
Thanks
Yours Faithfully,
Mr Victor Okonnem0 -
What's the problem? If you are a regular comper you probably enter your address into entry forms and e-mails dozens, if not hundreds, of times a week.0
