I'm dying of heat. Need air con - recommendations?(merged threads)

Hi folks :)

I desperately need air con. Not really for me as such, but our 1 yr old daughter is finding life in our flat very difficult and doesn't sleep at night much :(

The best I could find which has a remote, is reasonably powerful and quite compact is this unit for £200 from B&Q

Do any of yopu expert moneysavers have any other good suggestions on better units/cheaper yet still good on functions?

Any help much appreciated!

:)

Not realy a air con unit as all it does is suck the warm air from outside back into the room. If I find some other unit I will post back.

I am a fee charging WoM Mortgage broker.
I now no longer give information and opinion within the Mortgage boards, because a number of posters who, having approached me professionally, agreed my fee-which has been been made very clear at the outset, taken my advice (normally cancelling a [home visit] meeting at short notice) have then approached one of the fee-free brokers on here to arrange the very same deal I have advised.
Whilst I totally concur with the ethos of "money saving"- abusing the goodwill of a professional who provides a quality service is taking it too far!
