Yeah he drove back from both appointments
It was pretty uncomfortable but not particulalry painful other than a sore throat. The tube irritated his nose somewhat and he moaned constantly (:rolleyes: ) BUT if I'm being honest I think he made a meal of it

As you work for a local authority I'd be taking this directly to HR. Ask them the questions-hypothetically if you like and see what they say. I can't imagine for one moment that what the manager has done is acceptable to them but at least you'll know.
