    .. and withHM baking you know if there's stuff in like Hydrogenated veg oils... Have read most of this thread and not spotted this point. If you are following a low sodium diet , low fat diet, high fibre diet etc etc you are in control of what goes in.

    And it tastes better. Part of that tasting better is that you know you are doing something positive for your purse and your family.

  • I agree - HM baking is healthier because you are just putting simple, wholesome ingredients together - flour, eggs, butter, sugar. There is nothing intrinsically unhealthy about those ingredients. Everything in moderation so you could stop buying biscuits/cake to eat every day and bake biscuits/cake once a week as a treat.

    In a lot of baking recipes I actually cut the sugar by half and it is fine for me - mind you I don't have a very sweet tooth! But you could try cutting down on the sugar each time you make something until you are at a level you enjoy.
