Mortgage exit fee

Hi,
I am a little confused. I took out a mortgage with C&G two years ago and now I am in the process of paying it off. C&G say I will have to pay a mortgage exit fee of £100. I have looked on the table on this site regarding reclaiming MEAF and it say the fee in JAN 07 was £225 and now it has been reduced to £0 (thee isn't one).
So if they have scrapped it why are they saying my fee will be £100. Can I argue this point?
Help much appreciated.
Thanks

Have you challenged them about it? Write a letter and send it recorded delivery, asking why they are charging you, when according to their web site, there is no other charge to other customers?
If you are not happy with the response, have a look at Martin's article here

I haven't challenged them it's just one of them things! They are saying I have to pay them £100 and as far as they are concerned that is it. I can only find reference to the now£0 exit fee on martins table not on any C&G literature. Any ideas where I can find this?0

It is referred to here on the web:

It appears it is only for new customers (surprise surprise) as they are actually adding £99 to the initial mortgage application fee! So it looks like either way, £100ish is the amount they will charge - either at start or end of mortgage term.
