I am off to work in Dubai in a few months (hopefully). How do I send money back to the UK? Will I have to pay tax on it if it goes into my current bank account?

According to ex husband it's not possible to send money from Dubai to UK AT ALL!!! Not in any way shape or form ever!
He works there. Funny that.Do not allow the risk of failure to stop you trying!0 -
The money remains taxable in the UK whether or not brought here unless you break residence for tax purposes.0

I would be moving there for a few years so would have residency there, I want to keep my house here though so would like to be able to pay the mortgage.CC debt 4389/12000 slowly chipping away helps :j

Are you moving for full-time employment for a period including a complete UK tax year?0

Yes- would be a minimum 2 year contract with work, teaching. Get a lump sum payment at the end and was wondering is that taxable too?CC debt 4389/12000 slowly chipping away helps :j

HMRC currently take the view under Bray v Best that bonuses are taxable in full if payable when UK resident, therefore you'd want to be non-UK resident when paid. HMRC are however taking further legal advice because they may be wrong so you'd need to check again before being paid in case HMRC have changed their view.0
