I'd say it's worth a try as you know your friends but I also agree with nuttywoman. I have a friend who invited me to a tupperware party, then next month it was Avon, then ?pippadee, and so on, every month until we realised we were being taken for a ride so I stopped going.
Do you have a other 'craft' friends who you could join up with to extend your market eg take turns to host?Doing voluntary work overseas for as long as it takes .......

Hi princesspoppypop, try out a party just to see how it goes and have a wide price range of products so that if anyone does feel 'obliged' to buy then there will be something for them to make their token purchase (please don't be offended by this - none meant). My neighbour did this a couple of years ago and it gave her a good idea of what to stock in the shop she now has, there where some pricey things but I just purchased some small items, so as I wasn't leaving empty handed.
You go girl.FiFi

Hey, I think this is a great idea...I love to make cards but don't have as much time or space as I would like! If circumstances change I may well give it a go in September with the mince pies idea ready for Christmas.
Good luck, and make sure you keep us updated on the planning and hosting of this brill idea!Getting Married 19/02/110 -
Thanks to all the lovely people that have been really kind and supportive. :A0

Hi Princess Poppypop
This is just an idea, but some time ago, I used to do something similar, I held one party for family and friends where I got quite a few orders, but after that first party I was a bit stuck, so I contacted the local WI (womens Institute) they were more than happy to let me set up a table in the corner of the church hall during their regular weekly meeting, and during their coffee break, they came to see what I was offering - I got about £300 of orders which I delivered a fortnight later. Shortly after I stopped the craft thing, but I do wonder if I could have visited lots of other local WI groups?
It may not work, as I say it was along time ago, but I felt sure they weren't obliged to buy as they didn't even know me - maybe you could make some phone calls and look into it?
Hope this helps!
