Dixon's/Curry's: same company, delivery charge difference

I bought a fridge freezer online from Dixon's as there was no delivery charge - unit price was identical to Curry's. It arrived on a Curry's truck delivered by 2 men in Curry's uniforms but the delivery would have cost almost £50 had I clicked the Curry's button.
The delivery men smashed the appliance trying to get it into the house and told me to refuse delivery on the grounds of it being damaged - another one would be sent. Dixon's confirmed stock and told me to ring back next day for delivery time. Next day they told me they had no stock and no idea when they would be getting any. They were obnoxious on the phone. I had to call back to cancel the order but have still not got my money back - credit card company has now taken it up. There MUST be friendlier companies out there, though they were perfectly happy for me to share my experience on this website! Beware!!

1) had you chose another company it would have charged delivery, what exactly is your complaint there?
2) If they dont have the product in stock they cant magic it, they made an accident and admitted it
3) When did they send the refund? The validity of your complaint here depends entirely on the timescales0 -
1) no complaint - it is a statement of fact which could well save some people money NB that is what this site is about, is it not?
2) they DID have the item in stock (Q: have you actually read what I posted???) at the time of re-order, but did not hold the item as agreed when I followed their instructions to the letter.
3) there has been no refund, no reference number for refund, no indication of when refund will be forthcoming, and flat refusal to put me through to anyone who might be able to chase up the refund.
If that sounds like decent service...then go for it!0
