Free to BT Customers 1571 on line

Options
I checked my phone bill online to discover the BT 1571 service can be picked up and played back from any computer once you have logged into your account. Could be handy if you want to check your phone messages while away from home, and I see no reason why this would not work from abroad.

And its FREE!

I noticed that I was billed for £3 on my BT account for 1571 use. When I queried it, the young lady said that it was now going to cost me £3 a month for 1571. I told her that I had not been notified of this, and she reluctantly credited me with the £3 I had paid, as I get my phone calls from Primus. However, she did say that if I made at least two calls a month using BT, then the 1571 use was FREE. All you have to do is to make two calls using BT, that is dialling 1280 and the full number you are ringing, (local call will suffice), during the month, and you get 1571 system for FREE. You could even dial the talking clock if you wanted to, but just make sure you dial a short local call twice, and 1571 is free. I am looking forward to checking my next BT bill. ( I only pay them for line rental). Cheers, Woodville.

    Their T's & C's state:

Customers who do not make chargeable or inclusive calls with BT will be charged for BT Answer 1571 standard service. Customers who are billed monthly must make at least two chargeable calls with BT in that month or BT will charge (incl. VAT) £1.00 a month for the standard BT Answer 1571 service. Customers who are billed quarterly must make at least six chargeable calls with BT within that quarter or BT will charged (incl. VAT) £3.00 a quarter.
