freecycle question

I don't know if I'm being impatient or stupid! Maybe I still have to wait to be accepted
by the freecycle group, though I've had an email back from yahoo.
My local freecycle group is hosted by yahoo whom I've registered.
However even though I (apparently) sign in I can't see how to offer goods.
There's a forum, top tips etc.
Am I doing something wrong? Thanks

Hope someone might have the answer
I've been trying to register with my local freecycle for over a year now, I've gone through the registration system with yahoo, but I get to the point when it says that a local administrator needs to approve me to finally get on.
Thats where I stop, no-one has ever 'approved' me, nor contacted me. I've emailed freecycle themselves and had no answer.
I've emailed my local administrator and freecycle literally dozens of times now (always politely) and just don't get an answer. I cannot access my local freecycle, cannot list and cannot see what others are listing.
I've got boxes of stuff that I want to give-away - does anyone have any contact details for them?0 -

Maybe your replies are going into the junk folder.
You could try a nearby freecycler.
State your area, I will give it a go.0 -
Sorry if I've posted this to the wrong section... feel free to move or merge this if necessary.
My local Freecycle group is so annoying... I posted an Offered ad on Saturday evening (48 hours ago), and it's still not appeared. I've looked back on Yahoo, and the last 'block' of moderated posts came through nearly 5 days ago. Only a handful of posts have been getting through since then, so I can only assume about 90% of the group are moderated. This happens regularly, days going by with only a few posts in my inbox, then getting deluged with 300 at once!
I've been a member for some time, have posted several times already - I make sure I set the ad out correctly and use good English. Don't understand why it's so heavily moderated.
I'd like to get rid of the things I'm offering... I know the moderators have a tough job with so much spam and covetous posts.... but this takes the biscuit
Anyone got any sweet words of comfort, and is this normal.... how often should the moderated posts be getting through, and how long should a member stay on moderation?
Many thanks!:TCompetition wins: 09/12 bottle of cognac; 01/13 combi microwave0 -
well i get messages through about 4-5 times a day, but the ppl are doing it in their own time. have you got into any other freecycling groups at all? im in 3 as ones the town im in, and the other 2 are further afield but still in my area. im not sure if theyre allowed to 'not' post any messages, without letting us know why theyre not doing them, so maybe it would be best for you to join up to more?0

I'm in the one for the town I live in, the ones for the nearby towns are 5 - 10 miles away, which defeats the object of keeping it local.... on the other hand I know a lot of Freecycle catchment areas do overlap, so could be worth signing up to another couple
Thanks EmmyCompetition wins: 09/12 bottle of cognac; 01/13 combi microwave0 -
You could offer to be a Moderator - spread the work and speed it up.0

i have checked my junk emails too.
can anyone help me with what i can try now ??
thankstrying to lose 3 stone by end of 2014;)0 -
This link might help..tho I see you can't post a message until you are subscribed to a group.

With it being a voluntary set-up, can imagine the group owners/moderators 'selecting' potential members.0 -
In the groups I belong to, the various relevant email addresses are listed at the bottom of the homepage - if you're not getting anywhere with the "Subscribe" address, I'd email the List Owner to ask for advice.
Mel.Though no-one can go back and make a brand-new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand-new ending.
