Can anybody recommend some where to buy a long prom dress for my daughter.I dont really want to spend to much money as it will only be worn one night.It also needs to be long as daughter is over 5'10 and the shorter one are way to short for her (wears 36'leg trouser) have tried debenhams sale online and they keep cancelling my order and the dresses aren't reduced instore thanks in advance for your help

A lot of people on here asking the same thing have tries although it may not be easy for her height (I know the feeling being a tall girl mysel!) I suppose with her being that tall you know about Long Tall Sally?

Is there a Monsoon sale shop anywhere near you? There is one in Liverpool that permanently has long dresses reduced by massive amounts and Monsoon tend to run on the long side anyway as I am 5'9 and stuff always fits well from there.

Could you hire a dress? The market town near me hires posh frocks out on a nightly basis and from what I've seen the size range is pretty good too (10-22). Might be worth putting out feelers locally. They may have some longer ones for tall girls.

You could try bridal shops. Thinking bridesmaid dresses here - lots would just as suitable for a prom and lots of them have sales around now because in January they get their new stock in

I couldnt find anything for my daughter last year in the shops and ended up making it myself (and it looked pretty gorgeous on her too ). Shes 5ft10" and once she had heels on all the ones in the shops were too short

Is there anyone who could make one for you? Perhaps for a favour in return?

i have a lilac monsoon prom dress never worn brand new with the tags on size 16 im 5'7 myself and its mid-calf length. im open to offers on it if anyone is interested or pm me and i'll try to get some pics of it

I have never found a dress long enough for me in Debenhams, monsoon are ok tho and i'm 5 foot 10 with a big bust which often lifts the dress higher!
