www.clearhealthandfitness.com is a new Bible based health and fitness site. If you don't mind Christian based encouragement then check it out.

They also have a free mini course titled health and fitness secrets at http://www.clearhealthandfitness.com/health-and-fitness-secrets.html .
God luck to all who are taking the bull by the horns and taking charge of your health.

  • For most people, diets don't work in the long term. Intuitive Eating does work for a higher percentage (and allows you to give up that horrible guilt surrounding food).

There is a free support group for people following the Paul McKenna weight loss system at http://uk.groups.yahoo.com/group/ICMYTsupport/ and you can get his book I Can Make You Thin at readitswapit.co.uk. I started the support group because I wanted to talk to others who use the system.

Another great Inutitive Eating resource is Beyond Chocolate. There is a book for this too, but their free newsletter contains the majority of the same information. You can find their website at: http://www.beyondchocolate.co.uk/.

    Hope this helps some people.

Another great free weight-loss site is www.fatsecret.com. I've been a member there since September, and I'm finding it a fantastic place for moral and practical support (I've lost 3 stone in total over the past 6 months). You have to use it in conjunction with your own diet, be that WW, Slim Fast, or just your own low calorie programme. They provide a diet and exercise diary, your own personal journal, as well as an active community forum. I can't praise it enough!

Thanks for this. I have spent two hours reading recipes. I have signed up, and will keep it going. I did weightwatchers last year but found I started to put it back on when I was going through a bad patch. I have now 'got the will' back, so thanks again.
  • I have read so many diet sites etc, but none tell me what exercises to do. Can anyone help me? I have medium arthritis, so cant do much in the way of very active. I walk about 2 miles a day but would like some gentle exercises to do too.

If you are into exercise machines then I would suggest the Argos York-x202 cross trainer. It is low impact skying action and it burns lots of calorise for the amount of time you are on the machine. This machine is currently on sale with £166 off.

  • Once you've made the decision and found the inner strength and motivation to shed a few pounds, it's time to find a diet plan to follow. You know that the internet is filled with tons of free information, so maybe you decide to go and find a diet plan there.

I would like to give a plug to www.CaloriesPerHour.com - they have a well-written no-nonsence weight loss tutorial, weekly newsletters written by a registered dietitian, calculators that help you figure out your BMR, RMR and how many calories to eat to lose weight, and (in my opinion) the friendliest weigh-loss forumswhere you can give and receive support and educate yourself. You can even keep a public weight-loss blog, I've had one there for 2 years.

[this is not a special offer: the website has always been, and will always remain free to use]

ps I am not financially involved with the website but I am a volunteer moderator

Non of the calculators seem to be working at the moment.
