Saw this earlier on HDUK. A full set of Dunlop MX2 golf clubs for £64.99 from sports direct. Says they were £329.99. Does anyone know if this is as good a deal as it sounds, I am thinking of taking up golf this year so any advice would be great, thanks.
Not sure what postage is.

Good deal but has been around since before Christmas. Cheap clubs but ideal for a beginner.0

Don't think about it - DO IT!! I started in October last year and can't believe I wasted 40 odd years of my life not playing.
As lowbrim says - these clubs are fine for a beginner, and a good price. No way they would ever be £329 though, they always stick an imaginary high value on them.
Some similar sets here (with 10% Quidco). I bought from them recently and am quite happy with the clubs and service, though I already wish I had bought a more expensive set.
Also check out Freeads or similar. You can often get a good second hand set very cheaply.
Bear in mind you do not need a full set of clubs. A 1/2 set comprising of odd numbered irons, a 3 or 5 wood and a putter is adequate for casual golfing (and lighter to carry).
If you do take it up then this is terrific value (8% Quidco).
Also, if you have access to a PS2 try this. It's a lot of fun. Although not the best graphics it is the most sophisticated software I have seen, and the swing trainer is truly useful. You can get the game (make sure it's the 2007 version) and the controller separately from Amazon for £1 less than this set if you search for them.
I would also recommend that you have a lesson quite early on to establish the basics. Don't book a course straight away. I had one after about a month which helped immensely and feel I am about ready for another. Fortunately I had some vouchers for Christmas.
Finally, be warned - golf is FAR from money saving.0 -
Thanks for all that info zenmaster. Got to decide which clubs to buy now, maybe go for the Dunlops. See you at St Andrews next year lol... Roll on spring. What goes around - comes around
