Is there a way to buy from USA?

Hi all,

There are lots of things which are much cheaper in USA as we all know and hate, but is there any loophole to not having a US address? Some ebay sellers sell to UK, but I haven't been able to find shops that do.

If you can't think of any, do you know any american shops (especially toys) that allow you to pay by paypal? Most shops say they don't ship outside US because they don't take foreign credit cards.

Any assistance or suggestions would be appreciated.

    Thanks for your reply.

At the moment I'm looking for some doodle toys (doodle dolls, ponies, pets, babys etc etc). Over here they sell for anything from £12 - £25, whereas there they sellf for between $8 - $25 - i.e. half the price.

I am not in a hurry for them, so I'm just on the lookout for a deal. Argos has the slumber party doodle dolls on sale at around £6.50, but they aren't in stock anywhere. Knowing that that price is attainable, I would hate to go and buy them for the RRP which is at least double that if you know what I mean..... (Scrooge over here)

There are only a few ebay sellers who have these who say they will send to UK, even though there are a lot listed on ebay.com.

    Thanks for any advice.

I find that USA sites don't ship to UK which is such a pity as their prices are fab.I'd also love to know if there are any sites which do.

You can set up a US based mail box and the they will forward stuff to you but depends how oftern/ much you want to do. Plus some places don't send stuff to mailboxes.

    Try

    http://www.usabox.com/

for starters! I looked into it but as I only wanted a few things for my self it was worth it cost wise!!

PS Doodle toys?? Now googling them...
Green and minimal chemicals is the new black- I know a fair old bit about sustainability, specially energy and transport stuff. If I can help- please ask!
  • The easiest way of doing this I have found, is to use eBay or if you have someone you know in the states, ask them to buy it for you and tranfer the funds to them. The shipping rate will be much cheaper going through this route. A friend of mine wanted some shoes from the U.S. and they wanted £25 in shipping for them, more than the shoes. I got my mother to buy them, shipped them to her house and then she shipped them on here.

Yes, I thought the doodle toys were pretty naff actually, but my kids absolutely love them. They draw on them and then you shove them in the wash and then draw on them again.

The only problem was my one kid got hold of my permanent marker for labelling her school stuff, and obviously the marks are permanent:rolleyes: and while the marks aren't too ugly, her sister has one that is mark free! As they really do play with them and enjoy them, I thought it would be nice to get a few more as pressies for them in the future - hence no immediate rush. They also have all different types - ponys, pets (cats & dogs) dolls, bears etc.

Anyway, if you have girls then I think they're a really nice present. If you have young boys, then the doodle pony, or doodle pet would probably be really enjoyed.

Unfortunately I don't know anyone from the states. Also the £5 ones are much smaller and clip onto bags and things. I don't think they're worth it.

Unfortunately I'm nowhere near a poundland. If anyone is and sees these toys, please let me know - I could paypal you money to buy and send them? Is that allowed on here?
