Will it have gone off? Don't want to waste it!

Hi

On Friday I made a dinner from vege-mince, onions, peppers, and a jar of pasta sauce. For one reason and another, it didn't get eaten, and unfortunately didn't get placed in the fridge til Sunday morning! Yuk!

Anyway - I don't want to waste it because I love it, so does anyone think it will have gone off enough to not eat? I can't really tell by smell because it smells all tomatoey (and I've got a terrible cold)>

Many thanks from a 'gone-off-a-phobic'.

Sorry, but I would not eat anything that had been left out of the fridge for that length of time. Not worth the risk in my opinion.I suppose if your kitchen was really cold it maybe o.k but, as I say I wouldn't risk it.

Hmmm cooked on Friday, had loads of time to cool down slowly. Then sit in a probably warm kitchen for about 48 hours. A perfect breeding ground for bacteria.
    Bin it.

How may I ask did you manage to leave it out of the fridge all that while?
  • Bin it! Way too long for it to be left out of a fridge, even for a veggie meal.

  • Thanks guys! Pretty much what I thought. Although my OH said he'd eat it as he's got the constitution of an ox and is a former student who
(I remember) lived on god knows what.
    Ah well ....
    Thanks again.

  • UPDATE! The OH ate it (I made something else for me - and put the leftovers STRAIGHT in the fridge). Anyway - he declared it most tasty and no ill effects. Human dustbin?
    Thanks for all your replies!
