Microsoft Flight Simulator blurs the line between gaming and a serious simulator. Thankfully the fun of gaming is still present and it is never boring.
Computeractive has teamed up with Microsoft to offer six lucky winners a copy of Flight Simulator X: Acceleration. The first prize winner will also receive an Alienware Area-51 7500 gaming computer.


This exciting update includes three new aircraft to fly. The P-51D Mustang was one of the most successful fighters of World War II thanks to its British engine, and the F/A-18A Hornet is a fast modern jet. If you fancy stopping before getting too close to the ground, the EH-101 Merlin helicopter can hover in mid air.


There are four new kinds of multiplayer racing, including the Red Bull Air Race and the Reno National Championship courses. More sedate, but no less demanding, are the glider competitions. Twenty new missions have been added for solo gaming in other aircraft.


The Alienware Area-51 7500 is ideal for gaming, which means it is quite capable of any other task it may be set. It has an Intel Core 2 Duo processor with 2Gb of memory and a Nvidia Geforce 8800GT for sparkling games performance.


A 500GB hard disk should take a long time to fill and surround sound output is just as good for films as games. Alienware specific extras include extra care with the internal wiring to avoid overheating, and a T-shirt.


It comes with Windows Vista Home Premium, so it can take advantage of the DirectX10 graphics in the game.


Five runners up will receive a copy of Flight Simulator: Acceleration with a full copy of the game.
