Ive been thinking the same!! I was just about to post! i need help..i love to spoil him but this valentines day has to be cheap..as im treating him big style in March for his birthday.
Im working untill 9pm so im thinking ill have the romantic meal at home ready etc..what do i get him??
People should make more of a deal for valentimnes day, not in the commertial sense of rushing out & spending a fiver on a card but nice things for each other..thoughtful things, i tried to bake him cookies last yr & write different messages on..didnt work so i ended up buying them & icing on them!!!2010 is my DO IT year! grow own bits, savvy shopping, organised!!Get a hobby!!! be fit!! be happy!!
Saving all change & paying off debts!!
constantly looking to save money!!! all help needed!!0 -

1. national geographic subscription £15 (forgot it at christmas!)
2. home made chocolate slab c/o little quackers great idea.
nothing else. we went overboard the last 2 years, this is our 3rd and we have more important things to spend our money on. As for doing something together, probably a cosy film night in - I don't need to spend stupid amounts of money on one day of the year to get poor service when I can go out another night for ameal and have a great time. The first year was great - we cooked a meal together!!(dont live in the same house yet!) had a great laugh doing it and eating it!!

Night in for us, too. I agree with Jamtart - going out for an overpriced meal, where the food has a predominantly pink/heart-shaped theme, and there are twice as many people crammed into the restaurant as usual (so you feel that you could join in with the romantic conversation on the table either side of you! ) is not my idea of a great night out. We will have a lovely homecooked meal with a nice bottle of something special, and if we decide to go out, we will do it either the week before or the week after, when the full menu is available (rather than the reduced option "Valentine Special Menu") and the price is also back to normal!!

Present-wise, I'd like to try and keep it low-key this year, as we are not particularly flush, and have things that we are saving for, on which the money would be better spent, so I think just a card and a £10, maybe £20 max., limit would be best - this still leaves plenty of scope for imagination!

P.S. Happy Anniversary Mr & Mrs Sloppychops!

What will you be doing? Might make him a nice meal after packing the children off to bed
What will you be getting oh? Gawd knows, I thought of something really good the other day but forgot it now. last year I made him a massive box of sweets but he has decided to be diabetic now so cn't do that one again.
What is your budget? Depends how skint I am when it comes to it, prob about £30
What are you hoping to recieve? A card this year would be nice, but if I had to choose something....Erm....Oooh.....Oh I dunno. Maybe some underwear, I love underwear and he likes the same stuff as me so I think it will be that.Work like you don't need money,Love like you've never been hurt,And dance like no one's watchingSave the cheerleader, save the world!0 -
I think this year we will set a limit as hubby goes over the top. I would love some underwear, never get it bought for me.0

Hopefully a bloody proposal.
This will be our forth Valentines. Last year he gets out this jewelry box and inside was love heart necklace, usually I would have loved it, but I was expecting something else

We don't bother with cards/pressies at all, just a cosy night in with a nice meal. Prefer to splash out for our anniversary
