Ocado discounts not as advertised
I think MSE should remove the "25% off first shop for Ocado" from the top of the list on Save on groceries using new customer supermarket delivery offers. Many reasons, the main one being that the 25% discount simply is a lie - I ordered £71.95 (sub-total, after additions and subtractions below) and got a discount of £11.68. That's 16% at best, however you look at it.
But everything else was also awful. I'm coeliac, so let's start with mislabelling and dysfunctional search. I searched for Soya Milk - top result? Oat milk (I'm allergic). Some items, the allergens in ingredients were in capitals rather than bold (that's skirting recent "distinguishing" legislation given the other ingredients are in mixed case). A common annoyance too - many items that are gluten free are filtered out by adding a search, meaning I'm overpaying for specialist food when cheaper alternatives exist.
How about finding the cheapest items? Two problems there - first that when I search low-to-high price, they sneakily categorise it so, for example, the expensive salad tomatoes are at the top but cheaper "slicing tomatoes" are half way down the page. They've also kept the old scam of "price per" referring to the full price, not a discounted price, including in sort order.
Then, other discounts and charges - the basket before discounts was £75+. But it still attracted a small order charge. That charge was not in line with their policy because before I started adding odds and sods to bring it over the top (e.g. toothpaste I'll need soon enough), it was below £60 after all discounts which they say will be £2, but charge £1. So it looks like it is on the full, undiscounted basket, but no, when that went over £75, the charge stayed.
All in all, MSE should not have anti-consumer businesses listed at the top of their consumer offer pages.

I like Ocado. I made sure my basket adhered to all the terms and conditions and got a full 25% off my last shop.
