Equity release non standard construction
Does anyone know of any brokers who deal in this please? Our bungalow was built in 1950's steel frame. No issues with it confirmed by survey but all usual lenders are refusing based on their "criteria". Although we haven't been told what that is, not has anyone asked to see a survey. So worried as this was our retirement plan and we had no idea there would be an issue, particularly as our neighbours with same survey results has just sold no problem!

Are you certain it's the house that's the issue?

The problem is almost certainly rooted in the steel frame construction which along with pre fabs and concrete constructions are disliked by equity release lenders.
Only specialist brokers maybe able to assist, but even if so be prepared for down values. The following broker 'purports' to be able to assist -
Worse case , you may have to consider selling up and buying a home not tainted with the non standard construction label.
