Morning, thanks Gers.
It's a dull damp start here, but it's supposed to be sunny later, so we'll look forward to that.
I didn't want to get up this morning, that's not like me - I'm usually up early. I seem to have been awake a lot through the night but that's nothing new for me. Hey ho, I'll pull myself together after a large cup of strong coffee.
It was good to see TA's post, I'm glad she's back.
Dgd and dog have gone home, so the house is quiet, till the next visit.
I've got the usual jobs today, and will visit a friend this evening.
Hope you and dh are coping Ruby, it's a difficult time.
Thoughts to others going through the mill for whatever reason.
Take care folks

Morning All
Thanks for the start Gers. Hope the new cleaners do a thorough job for you.
Another one who didn't want to get up Scarlet, must be a Friday thing! I've been really tired this week but haven't managed to sleep very well, I think it's the thought of this blooming meeting on Monday.
Chap came to give me a new key to the car yesterday, took all of 2 minutes. He checked it was all working properly before he left.
Sorry you didn't get the job Coxy.
Hope you managed some fishing yesterday NRA, do you watch Gone Fishing? My favourite programme on the TV.
Fingers crossed the new treatment helps your DM Allie.
If the forecast is correct we should have a dry day, all was dry and calm yesterday until about 4pm when I was leaving work, typical as I was going to plant the garlic at the allotment. Oh well, there's always another day!
Hugs to anyone in need. Take care. XX

Another misty morning - it didn’t last long yesterday so hopefully the same today. I did so much yesterday that I can’t remember it all - all I know is the only time is at down for more than a couple of minutes was for some dinner and to watch Traitors.
Oh but I did go to the fabric shop and make purchases It’s a wonderful place but a total mess because they are so busy No idea how they find anything and I think HSE would have a field day, I had to climb over a pile of fabric bolts in the aisle at one point!A friend of DM’s is coming for coffee and will stay with her while DF and I pop to B&Q. Do they still do paint colour charts I wonder or is it expected that you look online now?
Take care all.

Morning again - the grey sky is beginning to break down to let bits of pink and wishy-wash blue through. Yesterday remained dry, sunny and cold.
Inevitably, I didn't get round to making the soup as planned yesterday. I'm out of garlic and paprika so will get them when out later this morning. I'm off down the east side of the Kintyre peninsula for my long long overdue haircut and colour. Right now I resemble Shaggy from Scooby-do! My hairdresser's FIL died unexpectedly so appointment was rescheduled. It's only been two weeks but what a difference it makes, I had to do some tweaking to my fringe as hair was poking in my eyes.
I'm set the WM to start off in three hours time so it should be finished by the time I'm back home. The delay feature is new to me so here's hoping.
@Camelot - the new cleaners start next week, thank goodness. @Redruby, I hope that you are coping OK and that the toxic person is keeping well away. There's enough stress without her. @TravellingAbuela - thinking of you. And all others who are going through a rough time for whatever reason. Take care all. xx

Good morning
Not as foggy this morning, just a bit of mist. It seems temperatures are going to drop overnight at the weekend.
My dgs had more surgery on his ankle yesterday, hopefully he will be allowed home today. My dd said he was in pain and bored, but eating biscuits after. He's 25 and has just got his own home, but is back with mum for the foreseeable, and yes, his dad turned up to take him to hospital. I knew he wouldn't let them down.
Today it looks like DH is going back to the station of tools as the overalls he got are too small. He asked me what size he needed, I said large so he bought medium. What do I know? I don't think I'll bother going with him as there's nothing needed.
Cottage pie for dinner tonight, haven't had it in ages so looking forward to it.
Have a good day all, take care.

morning everyone thanks for the start Gers it’s very misty and dull here but it’s dry at least I will avoid the drowned rat look of last week when I went to do my volunteering. Not a clue what we are having tonight I will have a look in the freezer in a minute it will be something quick and easy . Camelot I know nothing about fishing but I love that programme. Gers I’m always sniping bits off my hair when I get my haircut I always say to her it’s no use telling you I haven’t had the scissors to my hair you can obviously tell .Allie well done getting your fabric you wanted . Scarlet I’m blaming the clocks changing I’ve been tired all week. Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing

Morning folks. Another one with mist/fog this morning. But the sun is supposed to come out mid morning so fingers crossed.
Yesterday's hopes of making a start on neglected jobs didn't happen. The weariness/extreme tiredness swept over me again and I ended up doing nothing except lounge on the sofa under the heated throw all day. . Hopefully today I can make a slow start on at least something.
DS and his DP flew to Cape Verde yesterday and I was glad to get a text around tea-time telling me they had arrived at their hotel safely. They have been a couple of times before and really like it there. So a supermarket free w/e for me, though I did get double of a lot of stuff last w/e to keep me going.
Have a good day folks if you can with ((HUGS)) for the poorlies, sad, worried or lonely. Take care all, be safe x

Morning all
Back from shopping late as it's DH's birthday so he came with me and we had breakfast in Marks. We he did but he didn't tell me before I'd had mine earlier as I was up before him!
Takeaway tonight so that'll be nice
Another one who loves Mortimer and Whitehouse Gone Fishing, always a belly laugh in there somewhere. @Gers last episode of Slow Horses for me tonight. Holding my breath!
Nothing else planned for today so hope everyone has a good day xx

Morning all, thanks for the start off @Gers.
Overnight mist has persisted into this morning so it's a damp, chilly start to the day with the sun due to make an appearance at some stage (not yet, maybe this afternoon) and forecast to stay dry.
The Open Reach engineer came yesterday to install my new full fibre broadband, all done and dusted without incident and no downtime on internet connection. Bless him, he even connected my laptop and TV to the new hub for me - he must have felt sorry for an old lady. 😁 I'm getting in front of myself since I've already packaged up the old router, cables etc to send back to my old provider when they send me a postage paid bag for it. I'm glad I saved the original box - for once Justin came in handy.
Usual weekly admin to do today and, predictably, Friday fish supper for dinner. Tonight I'll be watching another couple of episodes of the first series of This City Is Ours before starting on series 2; I didn't think it would be my cup of tea but I am enjoying it.
My NDN has finally moved house and this morning council workmen have been ripping out her old kitchen ready for a refurb before re-letting the property to a new family. Depending on how long it takes to put in a new kitchen and any other necessary works to be done, I could have new neighbours by Xmas. I hope they're nice, I'll find out soon enough.
@AlwaysAllie - I'm not a fan of shopping but I do love a good haberdashery, fabric or yarn shop, despite it not being good for my purse. Yes, you can still get physical paint colour charts, hope you find what you're looking for.
@remmie - Fingers crossed your DGS can be allowed home (or should I say back to his mum's) today after his ankle surgery.
@TravellingAbuela - Don't feel guilty about the neglected jobs, you'll get round to them eventually. We all need (and deserve) a sofa day sometimes. The thought of winter looming and longer darker nights often give people that 'Can't Be Bothered' feeling and I'm no exception.
@Chrisca50 - Happy birthday to Mr C. Enjoy your takeaway.
Have a good day all, usual hugs for anyone in need of one or two. Take care, stay safe. xx
Be kind to others and to yourself too.7 -
Afternoon all and thanks for the start @Gers x
A DDad free day so I'm about to start painting the landing ceiling - it's on two levels so will need a long handled roller plus ladders. It was plastered about a month ago and will need at least 3 coats I reckon 😲 Second coat tomorrow then I have DDad on Sunday so will see what I can get done then.
I have been out this morning to run some errands and picked up some groceries so we are okay for food for a few days.
Hope @RedRuby1231 is doing okay and I forgot to mention (and gasp) at @dp1 's brother moving abroad without seeing their parents. Absolutely shocking behaviour.
Have a good day all
