It's most welcome that the "internal" closing date is now shown.
It is also well done that it is below the opening post even when there are replies.
Thanks 😉
As the changes progress, if the closing date will also be shown in the forum view then that would be great, but until it does, we will have to continue putting E: DD/MM in the title.

That's why we've added it. So that the date will be both in the list and also when you open the list. This will give Compers the choice as to whether there is any continued benefit in continuing the date in the title.

I'd much rather that it was in a standard DD/MM/YYYY format, but maybe that's just me…..
Plus some comps have really long opening posts, so I'd prefer it to be before the opening post, rather than after it.
What, if anything, is displayed if the OP has forgotten to put anything in the Closing Date field? The 'box' where date is displayed can display more information than the date. So it itself might get get. That's why I placed it below -
One thing I was wondering if might be useful in this space could be a private field, shown only to Comp poster and admin, to store any info that's useful - An 'author's note' about the Comp they posted to keep hidden useful info.I don't believe the date format can be edited when we change to the new formats, so even though I could change that now, I want to put it in the format it will eventually be in permanently.
The closing date field will be mandatory. The ability to create a post without a date comes from the ability to create a post from places outside Comps Time like the red button on the homepage. When the full new system is in place, it will never be possible to post in Comps Time without a date.Join the MSE Forum
