Combined Nectar / Easysaver card use at Argos?

I have a good number of Nectar points and thinking of using them in Argos for an item where my Nectar balance can cover half the purchase. I also have some credit on a work reward scheme that I can convert to various vouchers, including Argos and Easysaver. I'm aware that Argos will not accept a payment by Nectar+their own vouchers, but can't find any definitive answer on combining Nectar and Easysaver card. I will be visiting an Argos branch to ask, but wondering if any experience here on this. AI answer says that it can be done 'at store discretion' at the till, but no definitive answer evident on either Nectar or Argos sites.

I used to work at Argos. AI is for once correct - it's at the manager's discretion. Probably fine if a) the manager is there and B) there's nothing suspicious about the transaction

Lots of crooks use fake vouchers, sadly. If it's an Argos where you shop regularly anyway that will help
