ANSWER: Nov 20

It’s the big one! In fact it’s the biggest one in Hertfordshire. Yes, historic Ashridge House, Berkhamsted, is once again hosting its annual light trail, Ashridge House Illuminated from Nov 20 – Jan 2.

Set within 190 acres of Grade II* listed gardens, this year brings brand new installations and for the first time ever the House itself will be lit up with projections. Inspired by the Christmas poem A Visit from St Nicholas by Clement Clarke Moore, the new route features more than 20 different magical light displays plus immersive moments, enchanting sound and magical storytelling.

And you won’t go hungry either thanks to an expanded Christmas market featuring festive food, tasty treats, seasonal favourites plus warming drinks and Christmas shopping to boot. Your four-legged friend can join in the fun too as there’ll be two designated dog-friendly nights every week. No one gets left behind here.
