Morning All
Thanks for the start Gers. Hope you have a more settled day.
Damp and miserable out this morning and still so dark!
Hoping for a quieter day at work today, yesterday we had no internet or phones for a couple of hours, it's certainly not been a good week!
Glad your insurance quote wasn't as bad as expected Chrisca.
Sorry to hear your family lost their beloved dog Remmie. Hope your DGS recovers quickly.
How exciting to get new furniture dp1. Glad your DDad was more settled.
Hope everyone can have a good day. Take care. XX

Morning, thanks Gers.
Seems damp here, it was raining last night when we walked home from the quiz.
I'm going into Newcastle today to meet up with Dil's mum. While I'm there I'll nip into Pri*ark for some jogging trousers. I wear them round the house all the time, except in summer. Also, there's a good butcher in the Grainger Market, I'll see what he's got today.
Sorry to hear that your dad had a distressing episode Dp1, how sad it is.
Hope you'll feel better soon Coxy, you sound poorly.
Thoughts to anyone else who isn't well. Take care folks.

Morning
I have been reading, brain doesn’t retain everyone’s news so will send best wishes to all.
2 x half days working at college and I was a) tired and b) out of sync with chores etc. always takes some getting back into even though it’s s short time out of the house. DM managed to fall and head butt the radiator on Monday, no injuries or damage, she doesn’t see the seriousness of falls which frustrates me greatly.
Today I have decided is wasp day! We had a massive nest in the loft which was dealt with by professionals , however the dead wasps are everywhere in the loft space. Thankfully there isn’t a huge amount of stuff up there but I need to try and clear as many as possible. So I’ll be hatted and masked up and will see what I can do - it’s not tall enough for standing either which doesn’t make things easy.
Chicken curry to make for dinner and a walk to be had at some point regardless of weather as BDog didn’t get one yesterday.
Take care all

Good morning
It's not raining at the moment but the sky is red, rain is forecast all day.
Not much happening today apart from trying to get big dog out. He loves his walks but hates the rain. Still the usual chores to do. I did manage to sort out the tins cupboard yesterday. As we live in a village that can be cut off in winter due to flooding I like to keep a good stock in.
Fakeaway kfc with chips, coleslaw and corn on the cob tonight.
Have a good day all, take care.

Morning again - there's so much bad stuff happening around us all so it's hugs too all with woes, fractured ankles, ailments, fears or sadness. The darkness is of no help to our moods.
Tuesday was a better day than Monday. After I collected my meds I got another text alert about more in the vending machine so drove back down to get them. I popped into the pharmacy, the chap was equally baffled as to why the surgery pharmacist had sent through two scripts. Anyway, from none to three months worth now so feast is better than famine. I really enjoyed the feast of GBBO last night and felt so sorry for the poor person eliminated, but what a joy for star baker.
I'm still eating salady food though I'll stop when it's finished and won't buy more. Soup is going to be on the agenda again. Any maybe I'll get more adventurous with using my air fryer. Today I have no plans apart from watching the final episode of Slow Horses.
Please take care all. xx

Good morning everyone, and thanks for the thread, Gers. I am new here and hoping to pick up some thrifty tips. We had a big pot of soup for dinner last night too, and there is always something comforting about using up what is already in the cupboard. Hope you all have a good day.

Morning all
Pouring down with rain here and meant to be all day, typical as I am supposed to be walking amorous dog for an hour today while his dad had therapy, I have told them I will give him a quick 15 min one and then sit and wait in the car, I need to make some lunch for the man first and sort out the washing- hopefully it will be a good first day.
Dinner tonight will be chilli and rice - OH can cook as he has been rained off today and he does make a good chilli.
I’m going to meet another lady tomorrow who wants some support with her Autistic son on a Thursday so I hope that goes well, if so then the week is filling up nicely.
Coxy I hope you feel better soon xx
Rennie I was sorry to hear about the dog xx
Have good days all and take care xx

Remmie I was sorry to read that the family had lost their old dog, it's heart breaking I know.
That dog sounds a bit of a pain Ruby. My dd's dog was terrible for this until he had 'surgery'.
Hope work has calmed down now Camelot.
Hi johncarterwendy, good to meet you.
Hope everyone has a good day.

Morning everyone
Raining here too this morning, not a good forecast for the next few days. I'm not at work today so I've a list of jobs to do…shopping first, ironing, a prescription to collect and a visit to mam and dad….oh and a TV stand to put together.
I went to our food larder after work yesterday, I got a big bag of vegetables and various tins and other items all for just £2. I tidied the tins cupboard when I got back, only one very out of date item and a tin of soup almost out of date, so I left that at the front. I'm trying to build up a decent amount of tins for over the winter.
Best get moving, I hope everyone has a good day x

Good afternoon all and thanks @Gers for today's start off.
@johncarterwendy - Hi, glad to have another poster on board.
@AlwaysAllie - I don't envy you having to clear the dead bodies from the loft! Sorry to hear your DM had a run in with the radiator, glad she's OK.
@Gers - From one extreme to the other with the meds - you couldn't make it up!
Not great weather here - lots of overnight rain followed by a dry, cloudy and cool morning. Heavy rain is forecast for the rest of the day that will probably start when I leave the house soon for my optician appointment. 🙄 I have a bag of donations to drop off at the next door CS too.
Hairdresser appointment done and dusted yesterday and I've booked my last appointment of the year for mid-December, just in time for Xmas. I've done all the necessary tasks for today and have nothing to rush home for after the optician so I'll have a browse of the CS and maybe pop into the M&S food hall while I'm in the area. I don't go in that direction often as it's a long uphill walk, especially when it's pouring down. Tea tonight will be scampi, chips, peas and sweetcorn. Much as I like salad, apart from tomatoes, I'll not be buying any now the weather has turned.
That's it for now and I'm hoping everyone has a good day with no mishaps. Take care all. xx
Be kind to others and to yourself too.6
