Debt Being Passed on Before Default
Sorry. I read the email a few more times and it appears NewDay have asked Arc to collect payment. They haven’t sold the debt on yet. So it’s safe to ignore Arc then and wait for the default?
Hi all, NewDay have closed by account after 3 missed payments and passed the debt onto ARC Europe. I only know this because ARC contacted me today. I haven't received a default notice from NewDawy or much communication from them at all really.
My question is, if the account hasn't defaulted, when should I start repaying? The idea is to default first and then pay so I can have my credit score back to normal within 6 years but if there is no default then what?
I am out of work for the foreseeable future so the amount will be small but I can set up a payment plan. Thanks in advance.
Edited to add I don't even understand their email. They say they are Newday yet the email address they are emailing from is Arc. The email starts off by saying they have issued a default notice and passed my debt onto Arc. But then goes on to say if I don't pay they will add a default to my credit report and pass my debt onto an agency?!

That all sounds very confusing. ARC are a debt collection agency so expect them to run through their standard letters. It's a waiting game.

This tends to happen when a DCA sends you a generic collection email, that they partially edit to include some of your account details, then forget to delete the generic content.
So you end up with a message that appears to contradict itself, and makes them look a tad silly as well.
