Morning All
Thanks for the start Gers. Bet you've had some stunning views just lately.
Cold and chilly again this morning with a white frost. Although it's been frosty and misty in the mornings we've had some fabulous sunshine the last few days. Washing all dried on the line (I'm such a sad individual!).
I had the little one staying from Friday morning until yesterday afternoon, she was an absolute joy. We played, scooted (I walked) and went swimming. Her Mummy and Daddy came for Sunday dinner before she went home which I really enjoyed.
Back to work today after a week off, I'm all wrapped up as it will be freezing in there.
Hope you manage to get a GP appointment Ruby.
That's a lot of pumpkin Allie!
Hope you caught up with your Australian family Scarlet.
Have a good day, take care. XX

I can confirm that it was a lot of pumpkin, which is now lots of pumpkin soup. Had some roasted for dinner too.
Managed to mow the lawn - might be the last cut…,,,depends on the weather. Made some biscuits as well as doing craft stuff and loads of other menial tasks. So another day of doing! In college this afternoon and a few errands to run around town with whilst I’m out. I think the road where I usually park is closed so will have to think about an alternative or, shock horror - pay to park 😬
Hope everyone has a good weekAA

Morning all
It’s been raining overnight and the sky is very black so I think we are due some more, I’m off to mums this morning for a few hours then home for lunch and then off to walk the amorous dog, I’m hoping to get it under a bit more control today!
I had no mystery pain in the night which was good but I have a bit of an upset tummy so I think I must have some kind of bug, I will make sure I’m ok before going to mums.
Not sure about dinner tonight will see what we fancy later.
Have good days all and take care xx

Morning again - yes, @camelot1001 - the evening sunsets have been stunning, this morning the sun rising over the sea and Jura is a showstopper. Cue bad weather later this week. My grass is due for it's last cut on Friday @AlwaysAllie if the rain holds off. It'll need strimmed first I think. My hair is the same as my next appointment isn't until next Friday, three weeks overdue.
I only went out yesterday to buy a bun and coffee. Then I made more coleslaw. Decided that I should use the electric food chopper which has languished in a kitchen drawer for too long - chunked up the onion and then found the chopper didn't want to work. Grrr. After I had made the coleslaw I searched for a replacement, then thought I wouldn't bother, then rethought that I should, the next thought was about how expensive the one I wanted was and, finally found it a bit less than half price so bought it! Too many thoughts I think. 😀
Today, which is only at 3 degrees, is for weekly banking then I have meds to collect as I have completely run out of one of the new ones so it's not on the automatic thing yet. After that I'm off up to the next village to meet up with an aquaintance. Her brother repairs / upgrades old iPods, I have three different ones which I'd like to get working again. One is the original with the centre wheel and the other two are smaller versions. I have the blue one I gave to my now deceased nephew. I gave all five niblings one in 2010, all with their name engraved on. When A died one of the brothers gave it back to me, I don't know what to do with it but feel that that it should be working at least.
@Suffolk_lass - I saw the Tutankhamen exhibition. I bought a huge full length poster of Tut's golden cask and mask which I hung on my living room door. Spectacular.
Right, must awa' - take care all. Keep warm and keep taking those tablets. xx

Morning everyone
I've just put my washing out, it's chilly, forecast light rain this afternoon so hopefully it will wait till I get home from work. I had an awful visit to mam and dad on Friday morning, dad was screaming and shouting at everyone including me…I had to ask one of the carers to take mam away and I eventually calmed him down. The language coming out of him was awful, made worse because he never swore. I just wanted to cry when I left but had to go straight to work. He was back to his usual self yesterday, but very tired and didn't have much to say at all. I took mam out for a walk as it was a lovely sunny afternoon, she was happy because I took her some carnations and her long winter coat.
Little one came home with me after school on Friday, which was lovely, she went away again on Saturday morning as they were going to soft play with friends, then came back again at teatime so she could stay another night! We had a lovely play with her kitchen yesterday morning before DD picked her up again.
My sofas and TV stand are being picked up today to be sold in our local Salvation Army shop, I have treated myself to new ones which are being delivered on Thursday. I've borrowed a carpet cleaner from my friend to use before the new ones come, should get that done tomorrow morning before work.
SuffolkSue…I'd love to see the Bayeux Tapestry, it's not so much the distance from here which is off putting, as I enjoy a train ride to London, but the price of the hotels.
Izzy…I've set my TV to record the new Robson Green programme, I've always liked him and watch anything he's in, but will enjoy spotting places too
Someone mentioned sunsets we've had some beautiful ones here last week too.
Hope everyone has a good day today x

Morning all, thanks for the start @Gers.
@dp1 - Gentle hugs after Friday's care home episode. x
It's looking very grim outside this morning and is supposed to remain so all day with maybe a short brighter and drier window this afternoon. I think we're in for a wet and cool week. 🙁
Yesterday I changed my bedding and have swapped over to brushed cotton sheets that resulted in a lovely cosy bed last night. I'm still using a summer quilt, to be replaced by the winter duvet as it gets colder. Another little adjustment for the cooler weather was moving my butter dish to its winter home (a shelf in the pantry under the boiler) as it's too hard to spread in the mornings if I leave it on the worktop. I spent quite a bit of time in the afternoon updating various organisations with a change of email address, most being quite easy to do but some less so. My little old brain wasn't up to dealing with those yesterday but I'll work my way through them this week.
Today I'll put my organising head on as I'm going to the hairdresser tomorrow, the optician on Wednesday and have to be in on Friday for the fibre broadband installation. I need a small top-up shop but can't put it off until Thursday so I'm hoping the rain does stop for a little while for that this afternoon. I have some defrosted chicken thighs to go in the SC, meat to be used for a stir fry and a curry, the stock for risotto. Tea is chorizo sausages (also defrosted) with jacket potato and veg. Bedding to be washed and dried with a combination of the tumble dryer and airer. I have my fingers crossed for a peaceful evening without any noisy fireworks; they don't really bother me but I know it can be distressing for others, especially if they have pets.
Time to get a wriggle on if I'm to get everything done so I'll wish everyone a good day. Take care, stay safe. xx
Be kind to others and to yourself too.7 -
Morning all and thanks for the start @Gers x
I've been poorly with an awful cough, sinuses and general fatigue - think I caught it from DDad(!) so have been reading along but no energy to post. A quiet-ish weekend and no DDad duties yesterday as BIL kept him (DSis away this weekend). I'm volunteering this afternoon so will take DDad with me so he can get his paper and some lunch out then walk back to DSis' house. Currently dry and sunny here but a bit chilly so will make sure he wraps up.
DH has almost finished painting the bedroom and BIL will be here tomorrow to finish the wardrobe trims etc. The carpet is being fitted on Saturday. I plan to take DDad out somewhere tomorrow, possibly a NT place with lunch.
The interview on Thursday was okay - didn't feel 100% tbh but I gave it my best shot. They are interviewing all this week so wouldn't be surprised if I don't get it. Glad you've found another role @RedRuby1231 and hope the dog behaves today!
I haven't been able to get up to the community allotment since DDad came in September, so I'm very jealous of the pumpkin/squash soup @AlwaysAllie
Glad you enjoyed the BT @Suffolksue we saw it in France a good few years ago, so I'm okay to miss it this time :)
Have a good day all

I’m late today met my friend for a coffee and a natter it’s damp and grey but not as chilly the log burner will be getting lit later . DP1 I’m sorry that you had to see your dad like that my friends husband was a proper gentleman and full of fun when he had to go into a home it was because she couldn’t cope anymore he was very violent and his language was shocking she even used to say I’m pleased he doesn’t remember anything because he would be horrified to know that he swore like that it’s very sad . Coxy I hope you feel better soon there’s a lot of coughs and colds about. Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing
