Unsolicited Loan Offer Zable (Lendable) - via MSE?
About a month ago, out of the blue I got a letter from Zable offering me a loan to pay off my credit cards. I don't have cards that need paying off.
I had no idea who this company was and I was annoyed about them sending me these offers through the post unsolicited so I contacted them to ask where they got my details from and got told the standard, you must have ticked a box sometime but they couldn't tell me where.
So followed up with a Subject Access Request via the ICO to try and get to the bottom of it, 9 Sept. Following a bunch of back and forth where they asked for signed bits of paper for my client, and then asking for my address (which was on the initial form, along with a copy of my driving licence). Then claiming that they had never sent me any letters, so I sent them a photo of the letter. And then asking for another week to respond.
On 14 Oct they finally responded. They have sent me two what look like loan quote requests from 27 August 2025, with an MSE reference next to them. And the rest of the document looks like the results of a credit report.
So my question is, has anyone else had any odd offers from these people?
Also, does that MSE mean that Money Saving Expert are passing on details?
I don't recall asking for a loan in August last year, I had no reason to ask for £12k at that time. I am also very careful about checking the 'do not share' boxes on websites, the MSE bit concerns me that a form on here may have been setup to default to 'share', but I still do not recall asking for a loan.

So your saying they sat on a quote for over a year before sending a letter out about it?
Have you asked them what the acronym means? Because of use of this site its what naturally jumps to mind but it could be a Market Standard Estimate (ie a non-personalised quote for marketing purposes) or Money Supermarket Engine (if the quote was done on the parent site rather than this one).Personally i do occasionally mess about on comparison sites for various reasons and so will put random answers in to irrelevant questions like what the loan is for. in 14 months time theres no chance of me remembering if i did one 14 months ago or not.
Do you share devices with others? Maybe someone else did a quote and didnt realise the computer was logged into your account.
