Timing submission
I get paid on 15th UC on 22nd so was planning on paying my rent on the 22nd and then withdrawing the money from my account incase it is frozen/closed. It is a basic account anyway with Barclays. Hoping once OR says no interest they will leave it open. I was then going to submit the application on 22nd/23rd but the issue is my direct debits. They all come out of the bank on 1/2 of November so a week later. What do I do? Will they still get paid if account frozen? I know I don’t pay the council tax as that’s automatically included but what about everything else? This is the bit that’s stressing me.

Pre-planning everything down to the last detail is best practice, if you are to declare bankruptcy.
Just let your bill payments come out first, there is no rush to go bankrupt, another few days will make zero difference to anything.
Also withdraw some cash to tide you over, in case your account does get frozen.
Just basic common sense stuff really, all will work out fine.

I was worried that I would not have enough time then to get my wages on the 15th if I wait for the bills to come out first

Then don`t submit your application until you are ready, is there some reason why you are in a hurry??

no hurry, I can’t seem to find the right date in the month that’s all as I have bills on 1st, dla on 8th, wages on 15th uc on 22. So pretty much only have a week between each thing and wasn’t sure if that was longer enough for it to be approved and banking sorted.

Not sure what UC is, but could you let your wages come in, pay all your bills early & take everything else out as cash, then submit a day or two later?
FWIW I had accounts in 2 different banks, all in credit. One bank froze them, the other didn't…

thank you, uc is my universal credit. I bank with Barclays, don’t owe them anything and it’s just a basic account so hoping it will be straight forward
