Morning again, it seems to be dry and not as cold this morning.
I did a bit of shopping yesterday and the rest of the day was just pottering round the house doing various jobs.
I've started to take summer clothes out of the wardrobes, I don't think they'll be needed for a few months.
I can't believe how quickly this year is going, it's incredible.
Youngest is coming over later, haven't seen him for a few weeks, so we'll have a catch up. We do have a family WhatsApp group though, so we're usually up to date with what's going on in the family.
Hope everyone is all right - take care folks.

Morning folks and thanks SCARLET. After a pretty grim day yesterday I think we are supposed to be having a respite today. Sunny intervals are forecast and no wet stuff.
It will be the usual Sunday of Sloth for me I think. An odd job or two this morning, nothing too taxing, then feet up watching rubbish.
Thanks all for the air fryer suggestions everyone.. I think I have settled on the Breville one that YL got. I just wanted something a bit bigger, (and not too complicated) than my ancient Tower one. It has served me well over the years and certainly earned its house room as it's on at some point most days.
Have a good day folks if you can with ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, sad or lonely. Take care all, be safe x

Morning All
Thanks for the start Scarlet, putting the summer clothes away seems so sad!
Yesterday was meant to be wet which it was in the morning but it cheered up and I got a load of washing dried outside. Supposed to be fine today so the bedding is in the WM, I put the winter quilt on yesterday and was a bit warm!
Cleaned all the downstairs windows inside yesterday, if it stays nice I'll get the outside done today, need to make the most of the good weather as the rest of the week looks a bit grim.
Welcome spoonsmcgee.
Hope your drive was smooth Gers and the appointment goes well today.
Glad you've picked a new airfryer TA, too many to choose from!
Does your DD have a moving in date yet Ruby? Seems ages since she got the house.
Hugs to your DD remmie.
Hoping Steve's procedure goes well snoozer.
Right, jobs to do and a steak pie roast to enjoy this afternoon at friends over the road, their DD is 21 today.
Have a peaceful Sunday if you can, take care. XX

Thanks to all who have posted.
Today seems much less windy. I was woken severals times in the night, a very loud owl hooting, then the heating came on at 5am (boiler engineer had left it on the wrong settling) so feeling weary.
No plans, other than usual cleaning, tidying, and maybe sorting some bits out in the garden.
take care allAA

Morning everyone
The wind has been wild here the last couple of days nut it's calmed down this morning. Little one came home with me on Friday, my new water butt had been delivered, so we made the huge box into a house, we spent ages decorating it…and yes we both fitted inside!
She went home before lunch yesterday as I had a hair cut and colour booked, she's done it lighter this time and I prefer it to the darker shade it was last time. I had a lovely long chat with eldest DD when I came home and caught with Celebrity Traitors at teatime. I've had a nice peaceful lie in this morning and have jobs to do then will go down to see mam and dad this afternoon. Mam is more settled now and has been joining in with cookery sessions, I'm getting better at not correcting her and just agree with her as much as possible…if dad would do the same it would help!
Right best get on, I hope everyone has a good day x

Feels alot colder this morning and the wind is still there too!
Shopping delivery due between 9-10. It's 9.37am now and the app hasn't even updated a delivery time yet so they must be short of drivers etc this morning
No plans today but an interesting footie match on this afternoon. Hope it goes smoothly!
Have a good day all x

Morning all
Dry and bright here I’ve hung one load of washing out and another is in the wm.
My mum has bought dd an air fryer for her Birthday present it arrived yesterday and we unpacked it to check it was ok, (her birthday is late November) anyway it’s lovely it’s a sage green one with wooden handles, OH has been trying for years to persuade me to get one and I’ve always resisted as I don’t want the clutter on the counters, so we have cleaned a shelf in the larder cupboard and have ordered one - I don’t know if I am excited or not, we will have to see if we use it much.
Camelot no move date yet it’s been six months now 🙄 but I think things are starting to move as she’s had a lot of emails this week, her mortgage offer expires in November so I think they are trying to push it through before then, we managed to buy curtains online yesterday so that’s another thing off the list.
Dinner today is roast chicken with all the trimmings I will do mum one too.
Have good days all and take care xx

morning everyone thanks for the start scarlet it bright and chilly yesterday was really cold and windy but I got all of my towels and bedding dried it’s the little things . No plans for today I was shattered after Fridays volunteering we are a few people down all on holiday and the van was full to bursting I thought it would never end lots to carry in and the charity shop half priced all there clothes so it was busy in there on the afternoon . I will make Sunday lunch later beef joint is cooked there will be enough for sandwiches for a couple of days I’ve got a freezer full of homemade soup it’s definitely the weather for it. Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing

Afternoon all, thanks for the start @ScarletRibbons.
@TravellingAbuela - I'm definitely in love with the Breville! I like that you can use each side independently or together and also as a large oven if you take out the divider. Friday's fish & chip tea took roughly 15 mins as opposed to double that when using the oven and it came out beautifully cooked too. Shame it only comes in black, I would have liked a red one but never mind, it does what I want it to do and that's the important thing.
@AlwaysAllie - I hope you have a better rest tonight. I sometimes hear owls at night and find it comforting but, tbf, I'm generally a good sleeper and not much disturbs me. Less comforting was a squirrel I heard the other day. Now, although there are lots of squirrels around here, I've never before heard the noise they make; this was almost certainly a distress call, a kind of weird screeching noise and very unnerving.
@dp1 - Good to hear your mam is more settled. Definitely a 'Yes' to not correcting her and agreeing with what she says. It's far less distressing for you both; I found that out the hard way.
Yesterday's weather wasn't great but today looks much better; it's calm, sunny, dry and slightly warmer but still on the cool side. Even though we've had a decent amount of rain recently, Yorkshire has just been declared to be in drought (again) but at least there are no restrictions - so far. Last night I had a throw over my legs while I was watching TV - I'd forgotten how warm and snuggly it is! I watched the last episode of Winter and it seems fairly obvious there will be a second series. I do hope so.
I was at a bit of a loss yesterday when I received an email request for me to review the service from my new broadband provider. So far, I've signed up and been bombarded with lots of information to read/digest but it doesn't actually go live until the end of the month, so - what to say? 🤔 Anyway, I replied (politely) that perhaps they'd like to ask again after the event when I might be able to give a more constructive answer.
I'm feeling a bit disorientated today as one ear has decided to play deaf; I expect it's just wax so I'll be using ear drops to clear it. Thankfully my hearing is normally very good but it does make me have sympathy for those less fortunate. Usual Sunday Sloth today although I do want to drag out the sewing machine to attach the eyelet curtain header tape on the one pair that I've prepared before I do any more. Dinner is lamb kebabs, broccoli and jacket potato and yes, I'll be attempting to do it all in the air fryer! 😁 Tonight's TV selection will be the new Jimmy McGovern drama 'Time'.
Best wishes to all for a peaceful day, hugs where needed, take care. xx
Be kind to others and to yourself too.8
