Job seekers Allowance
I'm 62 and recently lost my job without any payment and want to claim job seekers allowance. I have paid in enough credits to get a full state pension. By claiming JSA does this affect my future state pension.

No it won't impact your state pension.

In fact claiming JSA can only improve the State Pension forecast, as claiming JSA gives you NI credits.

How will it improve the State Pension forecast if they already have enough years contributions to ensure full pension? If they do claim JSA they will have to jump through all the hoops of proving they are spending time job seeking etc.

Well we are assuming the OP has read their state pension forecast correctly. Lots of people don't. OP you need to read the small print not just the first figure you see.

I found the JSA experience rather fine. But then I was actively seeking work.
I showed them my spreadsheet and what I'd applied for. I kept them up to date with the interviews I had too.
I can imagine it's a right old rigmarole if you're not really looking for work.2 -
If you are looking for work then claim JSA, it will give you credits while you are claiming and won't have a negative impact on state pension. Claiming also covers any gaps in employment if you need to have clearance checks done eg: security work. Plus there may be opportunity for some training courses if you want to keep your brain engaged.
