Refinancing car at end of PCP

In your dreams LOL EV's drop like a stone after 2or 3 years
Do you have any facts to back up your hyperbole?

ICE and EV depreciate at the same level, average of EV is 38-42% and ICE 35-40% over 3 years
That's a difference of 2-3%. On a £40k car, that's £800-1200, which is less than one year's fuel cost savings.
battery dedregration (whic doesn't happen to ICE)
It barely happens to EVs either.
One little bump and you could find your EV car written off.

Yes, this is exactly how I see it. The balloon payment seems to be somewhat less than the general showroom price so cheaper than buying used. The monthly payments via a bank loan over 60 months would also be considerably less than those I am paying for the PCP so that would be a bonus.

Ive checked and its not true. It was in early days when new models were getting cheaper but not really a case now.

No, not "in my dreams", actual automotive industry data.
In addition, comprehensive industry studies like the one below show an average degradation of around 2.3%, higher with lots of use of >100kW charging, lower with lower power (as little as 1.5%)
Sorry to burst your anti-EV bubble but the days of ICE being highly priced and worthless after a year with a battery doing 20 miles after a couple of years are long gone (if they ever existed)
Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:
People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.
