Do you weigh 200kg then? 1.2g/kg should be sufficient, you don't want to knacker your kidneys out.

Back on track - I have bottles and bottles of liquid (est 5L) whey from making some paneer last weekend. It stays fresh in the fridge but I have no idea how I am going to finish it off? I'm all souped out and there is only so much rice / couscous that can be consumed at any one time.

I weigh 93kg and have 10.2% body fat, for that reason I calculate on LBM and 2.5g/KG and I train fairly high intensity (12-14 hours a week across cardio and resistance). Kidneys are fine, I get an MOT every year. The other reason I keep protein high is appetite suppression, it works very well for that.

I think the demand for protein is really high at the moment, so not surprised the cost has increased. I know quite a few people that are very much casual gym goers but are wholly bought into what is probably a protein fad at the moment, and they are adding protein powders to yoghurt etc just to up their protein.

Social media seems to be really pushing increased protein diets at the moment, and I can well imagine that a lot of people are buying a whole range of supplements that they hadn't even heard of a year or so ago.
