Morning @Gers morning all
Back from Venice which was very beautiful and had lovely sunny weather. Had to get up really early yesterday to catch the water taxi to the airport, hence went to sleep very early last night and woke very early this morning! Had a nice time but it was very crowded so spent most of the time weaving in and out of people. Disgraced myself by tripping over a hole in one of the paving stones and fell on the floor in front of all those people! Bruised hip and shoulder but it could have been a lot worse. Hope the man who helped DH get me up hasn't injured his back or anything 😂
Popping out later for a few bits and bobs from Marks as I have a shop being delivered tomorrow.
Hope I haven't missed much and you are all plodding along as we all do.
Have a good day x

Morning all
For those that commented yesterday 😉, I DID only buy one piece of fabric……however, when I got home I realised it wasn’t the correct patten; regular sized gold stars on green instead of random mixed sizes. Will pop back next week, the ‘wrong’ piece won’t go to waste.
Bdog is having a dental at the vet this morning 😞- he was not impressed with being denied his morning biscuit! I’ll drop him off in an hour. Come home and take DM to a friend’s then do the shopping before collecting her. And collect Bdog later - he’ll likely howl the place down so they’ll be wanting him collected sooner.
I don’t think I’ll plan anything else. I have the covers to try to get back on the outside furniture cushions - yesterday was so sunny I got a few extra things washed - the label said don’t machine wash but they were fine on a gentle refresh and spin.
Take care all

Good morning
A dull cloudy start, rain forecast for 8am, but then brightening up for the day.
It's been the same old, same old here, so I haven't come on boring you with it. No plans for today, so it looks to be the same. I have got GBBO to catch up on, and am going to give Traitors a go, I've never watched it before.
Salmon, new potatoes and veg for tea. Last night I made a chicken stew, but didn't really enjoy it, although DH did.
Have a good day all, take care.

Morning folks and thanks GERS. Welcome back CHRISCA, glad you had a good few days but sorry about the tumble. It's usually your pride that hurts most after a spectacular fall isn't it!
The excitement of the Friday Tidy today, followed by the new month banking (albeit a day late!) Youngest DGD was going to call up this afternoon (she doesn't go to college Mondays and Fridays) but rang last night to say the tea shop lady had asked if she could go in today. It's all a bit of extra money for her so she couldn't turn it down.
I was reminded of dear NELSKI yesterday. I was watching an old Nigella programme on an obscure channel and it was the one where she makes the Orzo risotto that Nels introduced us to. I made that a lot at the time but not made it now for ages. Time to make it again I think.as I used to enjoy it.
Have a good day folks if you can with ((HUGS)) for all in need. Take care all, be safe x

It's raining here in the Lake district, it's the first rain we've had, been lucky with the weather. We are all packed and ready to come home.
Glad you enjoyed Venice Chrisca, but sorry you tripped and fell, hope you're ok. You feel such a fool don't you.
Hope the dog won't need any expensive dental work Allie.
Once we're home it'll be back to same old same old for us Remmie. We potter along don't we.
You might have a nap during the day Sue, hope boiler is ok.
Thanks for starting Gers, should have said that sooner!

Back - the morning is so lovely, cold but bright. Mind, the forecast is for heavy rain coming in from Ireland.
The planned scattering didn't take place yesterday. Lionel's niece had injured her back and, rightly, couldn't face the five hour drive to me and back. So, upstairs went the ashes for another day. Seems to be my week for things not going to plan.
Welcome back @Chrisca,sorry you had a nasty fall, hope that the bruises fade soon. Enjoy your volunteer day @IzzyBee and your Friday tidy @TravellingAbuela. I made the orzo dish last month so Nelski was in my mind then, plus I use small mugs every day that, when I wanted to buy them from Marks were out of stock online. Nelski offered (and in fact did) to go to her local store to look for them - out of stock there too, though such kindness.
I've had a small win on Premium Bonds so will add that to the banking spreadsheet. After that, the world is my oyster. I was woken fairly early by the convoy of film crew returning from the night shot so maybe have a wee nap later, perhaps @Suffolksue will be joining me.
Take care all - hugs to all those who can use one. xx

Morning all, thanks for the start @Gers.
Welcome back from your holidays @Chrisca50. Glad you enjoyed it, shame about the tumble though. Hope the bruises aren't too bad.
@ScarletRibbons - Glad you've been lucky with the weather in the Lake District - every time I've been it's always rained! Safe journey home.
It's fairly bright out at the moment with streaks of blue sky appearing and sunny intervals are forecast until later this afternoon when showers might appear. I'm waiting for the WM to finish its load of cushion covers, table runners and other assorted household linens - hopefully I can get it out and dried before any rain arrives. I tend not to buy things that are labelled dry clean only but find most such things are OK on a gentle wash.
It's the usual Friday for me so that means weekly admin and meal plan for the coming week. I'm deviating from a fish supper tonight as there's some leftovers in the fridge to use up. Other than that, it's the same old, same old, apart from being inspired by @Gers and looking for a larger air fryer that does more than than the (very) basic small one I already have. I've whittled it down to a choice of two, just need to decide which would be best.
A plumber turned up unexpectedly yesterday afternoon to repair the shower and he's also replaced the shower head. The council normally contacts you with a date/time before the appointment but on this occasion he just turned up - luckily I was in.
Help yourself to a hug or two if you need them, take care all. xx
Be kind to others and to yourself too.8 -
Morning all
It’s been raining overnight but bright and sunny here now, I have a wash to hang out so will do that shortly.
Dinner tonight will be fajitas I’m not sure if dd is eating or not as she is going out but there is enough if she wants some.
I need to have a hoover through and mop the floors today, dd will do the bathroom and hoover upstairs.
I’m going to see a lady on Monday about a job caring for her mum in our village, the daughter is very keen to have me but the mum is very reluctant so I’m not sure it will work out, I’m seeing another lady next Wednesday who sounds nice so I hope that works out.
Chrisca glad you had a nice time but sorry about your fall, it’s your pride that hurts more than anything 😩 Venice can be packed which is why we tend to go in December when it’s a bit quieter, I hope your bruises fade soon xx
Have good days all and take care xx
