Newcastle to Ludlow by train
We are looking to travel from Ncle (the Tyne one) to Ludlow (the Shropshire one). out on 12th October am, back 16th Oct leaving am. Unfortunately our regular ticket supplier cannot help us due to technical problems.
Could anyone help with recommending tickets etc. as we don't have a local booking office and the online stuff is mind boggling.
We have two together tickets and don't mind paying 1st class. We are not flight of foot, so connections where you have to get from A to B platforms in 4 minutes is not really viable for us.
Thanks in advance for any iput.
Meg.

The National Rail web site gives an option to specify a longer time connections at stations.
Then on the "Plan Your Journey" page at the bottom untick the option for Booking.com if you dont want hotels, then change "Allow extra time to change trains" from Recommended to another time

Looks like the usual changing places on the way there are Carlisle and Crewe, so both reasonable large stations.
The 1026 Newcastle to Ludlow on the Monday involves a 17 minute change at Carlisle and a 10 minute change at Crewe, the latter looks to be a same platform change, so surely this is doable?
The way back though its suggesting changing in Manchester and crossing to Victoria, which seems ridiculous, I dont have time to investigate further though.

My go to is to use Google Maps, enter the source and destination address and press the "public transport" option. You can select the date and time and It shows you everything you need to buy.
• The rich buy assets.
• The poor only have expenses.
• The middle class buy liabilities they think are assets.0 -
Trainsplit gives a number of options most with 2-3 changes. You can add extra connection time if this is needed.
Connection at Manchester with a change of stations can be a little misleading as services now connect Victoria and Piccadilly via Oxford Road.
