I suspect that if you complain about the delay if it's unreasonable, they'll give you £200 to stop you going to the ombudsman.

Possibly, but the employee has no contractual relationship with the Pru in a shared cost AVC arrangement.

UPDATE
Pru confirmed that there was a mix up with my LDS from my LA, which held up the process. They apologised and wrote the following:
"To establish the financial loss, I have revalued your claim amount from 28 August 2026 to
3 September 2026 (the date we actually made payment) and my calculation shows a loss of £85.46.
The financial loss payment has been calculated in line with the Financial Ombudsman Services guidelines,
to reflect the potential loss of growth. We have used a time weighted average interest calculator and used
the net growth figure as tax would've been deducted on any income from this amount if it had not been
delayed.
I have then added net interest of £0.05 to this amount from 3 September 2026 to today’s date 8th September, giving a
total loss of £85.51".I contacted my LA Pensions team but have not had a reply (or acknowledgment).
Thanks
