Morning All
Thanks for the start Gers.
Just went in the shower and there was a dirty great slug on the window frame, it's been dispatched down the toilet!
Showery and breezy today, much like yesterday. Washing is on the pulley, I'll finish it off in the TD later. I have the bedding to do at some point but will wait to see what the weather's like at the weekend.
Nothing from the insurance company yesterday so assume everything is ok.
Hope the little one is ok dp1 and your appt with SW went well.
How's your DM Ruby, shocking that they were going to send her home with no support. Hope your appt went well.
Hugs to you TA.
Must be off to work now, take care everyone. XX

Morning all,
Woke up fairly early after a good night’s sleep. Not much planned for today, I have an online grocery order, and will then visit mum this afternoon.
I hope that everyone’s day yesterday went ok, as a lot of appointments.
Remmie, how sweet of your granddaughter to wish you a Happy Birthday too.
DP1, your granddaughter’s casts sound colourful. I hope she had a better night with them.
Dinner tonight will be a bacon pasta bake, as I need to use the bacon up.
Take care all.

Good morning
It's a rainy start but should dry up later. Yesterday I had an unexpected trip to Screwfix as Dh went to pick up a part for some work he's helping a friend with. It meant I could go into Morries and get some kidney (the only place I can find it) to keep in the freezer for pies. I lead such an exciting life.
Today is my dds 16th wedding anniversary, it only seems like yesterday we were planning it. This is her second marriage, if she'd stayed married to her first husband next year would have been her pearl anniversary, where have the years gone?
No idea what's for tea, I need to have a rummage in the freezer, we seem to have gone from having plenty of choice to the same old few things. Hopefully there'll be some surprises in there.
Peony, enjoy your visit with mum.
Ruby, hope your dm is comfortable.
TA, hope all went well for your dd.
Hugs to anyone who needs them, have a good day, take care.

Ruby hope your mum is more settled where are the brains that think of sending someone out of hospital at that time doesn’t common sense come in to any of it . I have been up and down half the night the dog had a poorly tummy obviously there’s only me can hear her so it will be an early night . Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing

Morning folks and thanks GERS. It's currently blue sky and sun but I have no idea if it's due to last as I have lost faith in the forecasts.
DD survived the op yesterday but all she wanted to do was sleep after being woken up in Recovery. Back on the ward she fell asleep again so the obligatory drink and toast had to wait! Now under instructions not to drive and has been given a sick note for 4 weeks. Appointment given for the 29th for results. It was a day of worrying for me and took it's toll as by evening I was shattered.
RUBY I hope your DM .is now safely home with all services installed. I have read previously about patients being sent home around 2.00 in the morning as they are so desperate for the beds. It's a sad state of affairs we are in.
I have a light wash on the go so it's a toss up whether it goes outside or on the airer. I couldn't put my mind to anything yesterday waiting for DD's update so it will be a day of catch up I think.
Have a good day folks if you can with ((HUGS)) for all in need. Take care all, be safe x

Morning all. Thanks for starting Gers.
Remmie, your granddaughter wishing you happy birthday too made me smile, Hope she had a nice day.
I don't like slugs either Camelot. Back in the mists of time we were camping with friends in France, where I saw the biggest slugs I've ever seen, awful.
Ruby, hope things are better for your mum.
Peony, have a nice visit with your mum.
Thoughts to your DD, TA, she'll be feeling a bit sore.
Hope everyone has as good a day as they can, good wishes to the poorly ones, take care folks.

Morning everyone
I have little lad here as DD is on a course this morning, she'll pick him up at 11.30 and drop me at work. Little one was going to breakfast club at school, she's fine this morning. We had a nice afternoon yesterday playing Hello Kitty Monopoly, little one is quite ruthless!
I'll go shopping this morning and make use of the pushchair to carry it. The meeting with the social worker went well yesterday, though seeing mam answering her questions was quite difficult, as it was obvious how much she has declined, the social worker thought so too.
I paid my capital gains tax on my share of the money from their house last night, if anyone has any information on where to save I'd be grateful, it's in my Barclays savings account at the minute…I've never had a large amount to think about!
Redruby I hope your mum is ok now she's home.
Thinking of you and your daughter too TA
Hope everyone has a good day x

Pouring with rain here and quite cold, no heating on yet though as the hot flushes are keeping me warm 😬
Mum is now home after having three units of blood and iron injections she looked a lot better when I popped in last night with her dinner but was understandably shattered she was going to bed after dinner. I’m going up this morning to give her breakfast and change the bedding. We need to get in touch with the GP too as we couldn’t get hold of a Dr at the hospital for advice.
My appointment went well yesterday but I need to make a decision now, one of my implants which I had after a double mastectomy due to breast cancer has hardened and will only get worse, he said I can have them replaced but it will happen again and again so I will have to keep having them replaced which I don’t want. The other option is to have them removed and be flat chested or have another huge op in about a year where they remove the implants and take fat from my tummy to make me new breasts using my own fat, this op can take up to 10 hours and up to four months recovery, I dread the thought of another big op so need to do some serious thinking, I wish I had gone for the fat harvesting op before but the consultant at the time said that the implants would out live me! They have lasted 5 years 🙄
Dinner tonight is creamy garlic chicken with rice, dd is working a late so will eat there .
TA send my best wishes to your dd, I had a lumpectomy before my mastectomy and it really does take it out of you, tell her to rest as much as possible and drink loads of water and small but regular meals I wish her all the best xxx
Have good days all and take care xx

Morning all, thanks @Gers for starting today's thread.
@TravellingAbuela - Wishing your DD a swift post-op recovery and fingers crossed her results bring good news. I hope you have a more settled day.
@RedRuby1231 - I'm glad your appointment went well but don't envy you with that decision to make, especially when your mum is needing so much help from you. Sadly, care after a hospital stay often leaves a lot to be desired and isn't always forthcoming, instead leaning heavily on family members.
@dp1 - Nice to hear LO is doing so well with her colourful casts, she's a real trooper. I can sympathise with how you must be feeling at your mum's deterioration; it can be hard to come to terms with as I found out with my late DF.
Today's forecast is for sunny intervals and, although it's sunny right now, the likelihood of showers increases as the day goes on with them becoming heavier and more frequent. Top daytime temperatures only 15 deg. Brr.
Today I have a liver, bacon & onion casserole to make and I already know half of it will be going back in the freezer as a h/m ready meal for another day. At least it's only filling the space where the liver was rather than being an extra going in! 😁 While it's cooking I'll hang the living room winter curtains; when the summer ones will get washed is another matter and very much dependent on a good drying day. By the time I've done that I doubt there'll be much energy left for anything else - hey ho, there's always tomorrow.
Take care all, have a good day. Hugs for those who are poorly, tired, doing their best to support family members or just a bit down in the dumps. xx
Be kind to others and to yourself too.11 -
Morning all
Glad your DD got through her op ok @TravellingAbuela and she recovers well and glad your DM is back home and feeling a bit better @RedRuby1231
Nearly didn't have my scan yesterday as by the time I got there my bladder was nearly bursting as I was told it had to be full and I had to go to the loo but had a bottle of water in the car and guzzled it down and the scan went ahead. Just a waiting game for result now!
Just come off a 2 hour chat on the phone with my friend as we haven't spoken for over a week! Just having a coffee and then will finish hoovering and washing the floors.
Have a good day all x
