Finding out where your ancestors are from

I would love to do a DNA ancestry test, we seem to have some foreign blood in us, my Dad has quite Mediterranean features that are really quite dominant and have passed through his children and grandchildren but the family tree doesn't give any indication of where that snook in.

I'm not sure if my Dad would want to know of any skeletons in the family closet and it's this that puts me off doing it just yet.

Strawb If you want to do a DNA test then do it, you needn't tell your father if the result isn't what he would want.

Wait until Ancestry has an offer, this thread on Rootschat is the one to watch.

I swabbed several of my family with dna tests from my heritage. Most results were matches as predicted but I was deeply shocked to find out my dad was not my dad. I never told him, no need for the upset it would cause and he was still my dad. Haven't told anyone in fact other than my other half.
