Can anyone recommend a powerful upright vacuum? Features: cordless, upright, compact, self supported (doesn't need to be fixed or hung from wall). Hand-held small vacuum removable with a few brush tools. Not Dyson.

Thanks

We've got the Shark Powerlite Pet - it's excellent. Charges and empties itself on the stand, lightweight and powerful and has a removable hand tool too.

I've had both Shark and Vax - just a case of picking the one with the right bits for you.
