Morning folks and thanks GERS. Not a lot to say for myself this morning but do I ever!
There was the most amazing sky when I first got up but it didn't last. But we now have a bit of watery sun rising over the moors. As I am going nowhere it doesn't really matter what it does!
After my eye test yesterday I was zoomed in on by an assistant I've not seen before. He was telling me about the advantage of Nuance specs and offered me the try of a pair. At over £700 I didn't think that at my age it was a very good investment so declined!
I've just fished out some gammon I had sliced and frozen. That will be my dinner sorted, probably with a poached egg and some air fryer wedges. Nice 'n easy.
Have a goo day folks if you can with ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, sad or lonely. Take care all, be safe x

Morning all
Cool but another dry day today.
@TravellingAbuela opticians appointment is next on my list of things to do. Hope I'm as lucky as you!
I rang my surgery yesterday to find out how long I'd have to wait for my scan appointment to come through as it's been 2 weeks now. She said that there was a backlog but gave me a number to ring. I rang up and the woman gave me an appointment for next week!! Wonder how long I would have waiting if I hadn't checked with the Surgery? Madness
Saw a pair of sandals on a shoe website that I need to replace an old pair but they didn't have my size in stock so I'm taking a chance and going to one of their shops in a local shopping centre to see if I can get lucky there.
Apart from that nothing else planned today.
Have a good day all.

Morning, thanks Gers.
Seems fine but cool.
Glad you didn't need new glasses TA - but £700 for Nuance specs! Bet you had to pick yourself up off the floor. Why are they that much I wonder?
Hope you get the shoes you want Chrisca. That's good news about the scan.
Nothing much going on here today. Hope everyone is ok and has a good day, take care folks.

Good Morning all,
Managed to sleep in until gone 7am this morning, it is looking nice outside. Still full of cold so I will need to reschedule seeing mum as I don’t want to take it into the nursing home. It is definitely cooler in the mornings so I am sat with the heat pad on plus my thick thermal socks on and it is nice and toasty.
Not much planned for today, probably crochet. Dinner will be very easy as hubby came home with some nice ready meals to try, tonight’s will be either corned beef hash or mousakka.
Take care all.

Good morning Gers and all who follow.
It looks like the sun is trying to come out, its been a cooler night and there's a slight condensation on the windows. Showers forecast this afternoon.
Dh's blood test went well, he was in and out in no time, although he tried the classic line on me by saying he couldn't drive as one arm was lighter than the other. Nice try. We stopped off at Leedls and I got some shopping and a few tins for my store cupboard. I'm not too happy as Dh bought some tools which were 3x points and I think they've diddled me out of 20 points, but it seems too petty to persue.
Pork chops for tea, with veg and pease pudding for a change from spuds.
@TravellingAbuela I'm glad I don't wear specs now after my cataract surgery, my old varifocals were expensive enough.
Have a good day all, take care.

Morning all. Definitely chillier than last week, I may join @peony40 and haul out my heated throw and woolly tights. That's a shocking price @TravellingAbuela but they do have incorporate hearing aids! Still…free NHS aids are great these days. Good luck with the shoe hunt @Chrisca50, perhaps you could phone the shop first, saves a wasted trip unless you want a wee jaunt. 🤣@remmie's DH, reminds me of the 'armful' gag from Harry Worth.
My visit to the GP was fine, it wasn't my usual one though she too was friendly. She's dropped one med so perhaps my BP will go up a bit more. I didn't probe her too much as I'll wait to speak to 'my' one when she's back from her course. Now I've swapped one worry for another. Perhaps that's why I had a really sleepless night, the most sleepless for yonks. I was awake for about three hours, didn't think I was worrying, just lying there listening to podcasts which I had not heard all the way through before.
Today is the 18th birthday of my eldest great-nephew, it doesn't seem so long since his birth. He's having a family meal before going out to meet his friends and, no doubt, have a couple of legal beers. There's no conventional party (do young people do that anymore?), instead he's going off on his first adult holiday later this month and taking his girlfriend too.
I have no real plans apart from contemplating going out for lettuce. It's one of those things which don't really have much taste, it's a texture thing so I may not bother.
Take care all. I hope that the day is good to friends and family too. xx

Morning all
We are back from the most amazing holiday lots of nice remote beaches, quad bike adventures lovely long lunches with wine and a beautiful room with amazing terrace and evening meals out with the friends we have made there, bliss!
We got very delayed on the way back due to the problem with air traffic control, we boarded the plane ok but were told there was a 2.5 hour delay and we had to stay on the plane 🙄 we ended up having a 5 hour delay stuck on the plane, they gave us a small chocolate bar each and a can of drink for 5 hours 😳 we were then told it was almost certain that we would have to stay overnight in a hotel and then within minutes the captain came out and told us we were off, the plane then ran out of water half way through the flight so no hand washing available and then ran out of food, the whole thing was a disaster and I don’t think I can claim for compensation as it was out of their control but I will put in a complaint regarding the lack of food and drink available. We ended up arriving home at 1am having been up 23 hours by that point, and got to bed at 2 but then I had a horrible nights sleep and had really bad leg cramps three times so got very little sleep, I was like a zombie yesterday, but slept very well last night so feel better today.
Shopping to collect later this morning and I shall continue with the washing.
I hope everyone has been ok here xx
TA how is your daughter ? I have been thinking of her xx
Have good days all and take care xx

RED RUBY welcome back after what sounds to have been a nightmare journey home.
Thanks for asking about DD. She went on Monday for the magnetic seed implanted followed by the dye All went ok. Then back Tuesday for the pre-op. She goes in next Wednesday for the lumpectomy. She's to be there for 7.00 am but has been told that the elderly and those diagnosed with a more advanced stage of bc will get priority so she will probably be one of the last.. She's more worried about going without food all day as hasn't to eat anything after the evening before!
I can't believe how cold it has suddenly got this morning. I started off just in a usual t shirt and I was bloomin' freezing so I have been back up to change into a jumper and jeans and don't feel much warmer. I think the heating will be going on much earlier this year unless it warms up again a little bit. I don't cope well with cold weather in my old age.

Morning everyone
I messaged DD yesterday morning to see if little one was ok, she was away to school! She picked her up after lunch as they all go swimming on a Wednesday afternoon, and she came to me for the afternoon…lovely time spent playing with playdoh, colouring in and some basketball and catch…it hasn't phased her at all. Oh and she helped me make a big pan of bolognaise for tea and the freezer.
I've been for my shopping this morning, got some yellow stickered fish and meat from M and S, which is now in the freezer apart from a piece of plaice I'll have for my tea. …and a free box of belgian chocolate truffles costing £8 for my birthday! Also got a pack of free jacket potatoes in Lidl….already had my free birthday donut from them.
Just having a quick cuppa and a biscuit before I get the bus down to work. I've just had a message from my brother that the sale of mam and dads house should be completed on Friday, I replied and suggested he go and visit them, he hasn't been down or asked after them for more than 3 months, and he is a 5 minute drive away!
Best make my packed lunch, hope everyone has a good day x
Pleased to hear you had a lovely holiday Redruby…awful journey home though x
